Hi! I just thought I'd drop by and say hello, 'cause in non-sequiturs you said 'If god had meant us to fly he would never have given us the railways' and I'm sure Flanders and swan said that in 'At the drop of another hat'. Have you heard of Flanders and swan? I really like them!

Anyway, just thought I'd say hey and find out!

You hit the nail right on the thumb, sorry, head.
Along with other snippets from F&S over the years they performed together, this has been absorbed into family humour. These things pop out again when you least expect, don't they.

Yeah! I really like them, just as I like the two ronnies and the carry on films! Oh, and Monty python. I guess it must make my sense of humour a little old-fashioned, huh? I mean, I'm only 14!

What's your favourite song?

A lot of the older humour is still really good. Classic scripts just go on and on. As an ancient 60 my memory obviously goes a bit further back than yours.

As to music, well I have a pretty wide choice of stuff I like though I have to admit I don't enjoy much current pop. As a teenager in the '60s I have a leaning to the whole Mersey scene – Beatles, Gerry and the Pacemakers and so on. I also enjoy opera, country, bluegrass, folk and some of the orchestral classics. How about you?

I like some current stuff, but I do seem to love the all time artists like Elvis Presley, the Beatles and the rolling stones!

The more modern ones I like are The feeling, Mika and Red Hot chilli peppers. Something I really love is songs from musicals. At the moment I'm twisting my mum's arm, desperately trying to convince her to let me go and see 'Wicked: The life and times of the wicked witch of the west' in London for my birthday. It would be quite a hike for us, as we live quite far from London, but the show isn't touring, so if I want to see it I have to go all the way down to London. I love the song 'defying gravity' in it, and 'one short day', because I think they're really nice tunes. And I like 'Popular', too, because it's funny. I saw a video of Kristin Chenoweth doing Glinda the good in it, and she ad-libbed the whole thing on her last night! It was hilarious!

I do seem to be quite old-fashioned, don't I, liking the Beatles and The supremes, and people like those, huh?!

Ah well, it's good to know your own mind – what you like and what you don't – and not just go with the herd.
