h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I've seen you on the gardening website a few times, so i thought i would drop by and say hi
I'm guessing you use this site as a search engine as gardening does'nt have one.

Hia Venus! I recognise your name from the Gardening Boards too.

To be honest I rarely use H2G2 - I'm not sure I'd know how to! I've used a few other Boards though, like the cooking one, the sofa (can't remember it's proper name, but it was very cliquey) and Points of View. But I'm mainly on the gardening one and have been for a few years now.

I actually feel more at home on this site, than on the gardening one I think it's because there are many different people here, with different interests. As much as i live and breathe plants and flowers, i do like to have conversations about other things I find some of the rules there a bit silly too, like the 3 minute posting and having your 'U' number on display
Ah well, each to there own eh!

That's why I joined a different board - the Garden World one. It's not limited to gardening but it's a great community.

Tell me a bit more about this H2G2 thing then because I've never used it - how does it work for a start?

How can i explain how this site works.
Well i you click on my name, it will take you to my personal space. You can see it's my own little part of hootoo (h2g2) where i can write journals and guide entries. There is also a list of my friends, so i can contact them whenever i want too. If you click of the 'front page' there is lots of information and links to forums, games and all sorts of other stuff.
Click on 'who is online' it will show you the people that are logged in.
The search facility allows you to find entries that others have written.
I've been using this site for years and have met loads of people, some in RL at meets and visits.
Does that give you some idea how this site works?
