I managed to find a copy of the summary I emailed someone, so this shouldn't take too long to write, even with updating and getting rid of the <, since I got it from a reply. Details of everything may, of course, be found in my journal, but I wouldn't go that route unless you have broadband and a very long time stretching into boredom
The last Sunday in May, on the way home from church (a 20 mile drive on a highway), after 9:30 pm, a drunk driver pulled in front of us. No one was hurt (barring bruising from seatbelts), but both cars were totalled. I didn't drive all summer because the car we bought to replace the crunched car is a stick shift, and I only know how to drive an automatic. A couple of weeks ago **as of September 12**, however, we bought a car for me to drive. Unfortunately, that car is currently in the shop, because the belt came off and the car can barely be steered (I tapped a light pole at less than walking speed trying to turn) but should be out soon. **it's back out now, of course**
The company that owns the apartments we're living in is doing major
renovations in all of the apartments (the only things not being replaced in ours are the walls and the windows **and the vinyl in the kitchen and dining room, which now look really trashed in comparison to the rest of the place!**--only because the windows were replaced in February) for which they are relocating tenants to vacant apartments and
then moving them back to their own apratments when the work is done,
providing boxes, movers, and trucks. There have been issues with this,
mainly that the original date we were given for relocation was before
school let out on June 14, and we just got relocated August 28. So an
entire summer being surrounded by boxes and using styrofoam plates and
plastic flatware (and washing them). But the good news is that my
assumption that we would have no internet while our place is being worked on proved false--in fact, I've learned that the problems I was having and blaming on our ISP and/or computer were due to a crappy phoneline. **been back since September 24, and the phoneline's still crappy**
The church Tom was pastoring closed, and he is now working full time at Our Daily Bread, a feeding ministry here in town. I get to see a tiny bit more of him, since he'd been working with Daily Bread for a few months while our church was still going.
We're house hunting. **found a place, made a low offer, counteroffer and other counteroffer were too high, so still looking, though there's nothing on the market right now that we can afford and are interested in**
I went back to work on September 4, and Faith started her first day of
preschool the same day, at the school at which I work. **Faith loves preschool**
And that, I think, is that.
So what's been up with you?
