Hiya Mick

Well i will tell you something and that is i am not that keen on science, oh i use to do a bit of biology but it never sunk in at all.
Sorry i haven't been around lately but i have been rather busy, either with work or baby minding my little sister. Groan smiley - smiley
I am sorry to hear that about you selling your beauty, i know it would break my heart if i had to sell mine.
How do i fill my time you ask, well i mostly knock around with Keith and Stan, but mostly Keith really for we have known each other since we were kids.
We went out on our bikes on Friday cos it was my day off work, so we went to a park around here and drove until we were nearly dropped off our feet smiley - smiley
Have you any spare time to do that?

I no longer have the time, or the petrol money, to just ride for the fun of it. But I ride 2 hours everyday - one hour each way to uni. If you think you were exhausted on Friday, I once rode from Cairns to Melbourne in four days (have a look on a map). I would get up in the morning, pack my gear onto the bike, and ride until about 45 minutes before sunset (the roos come out then, so it's too dangerous 'cause if you hit one they're so muscular it will probably walk away but you almost certainly wont). Then I would do it again the next day and the next for 4 days. It's a trip of about 3,400km. Painful on the wrists and shoulders because the CBR 600 is not a neutral riding position, it's a little bit "head down, bum up".smiley - wah

I am sorry for the delay Mike but i went looking at other researchers pages, to see who is of interest for me to chat to.
I don't really understand km's sorry to say, i only know miles what i am use to.
But i can gather that it would be hundreds of miles when you travelled smiley - smiley
Oh i will be careful of the kangaroos when i travel, cos i don't want to have an accident and hurt myself.
I wouldn't like to ride head down and bum up, it doesn't at all appeal to me you see.
So i won't be getting one of them when i go over there to stay, i think that i will just stick to the standard bike.

Hi Ken,
3,400 km works out to 2,113.113 miles. To avoid roos don't ride at night, as I was getting at before. Long distances are best done in a neutral riding position (sometimes called "sit up and beg" position), or even with the footpegs set towards the front of the bike like a Harley. I only have one bike, so it has to do everything, and the CBR has been brilliant. It has toured, commuted and been around two racetracks (Phillip Island and Broadford), but for serious distances like Cairns to Melbourne something less sporty would've made life easier. At least it isn't as head down bum up as my old racebike, but then you don't have to do 3,400 km in any road race that I know of.smiley - cool

Thanks Mick for sharing that with me, i understand now not to ride at night smiley - biggrin
smiley - wow that is a lot of miles that you done, i don't think that i could do that but i could try couldn't i? smiley - smiley
I thnk that i will stick to the begging position then, for i don't fancy kneeling down with my bum stuck up in the air so to speak.
Anyway Mick i will have to go for i have to get ready for work, so you take good care of yourself aswell as your bike ok.

Hi Ken,
I will be on and off the air for about 10 days due to computer repairs. I will try to check messages from uni, like now, but don't know if/when the next chance will be. Please keep in touch during this little hiccup. Hope to hear from you soon.
