Hello
Although it told me it had gone, it didn't, so we are no further. Yet I know it's worked for other people, so that's strange.
So, I've started a new thread, O.K>?
Haven't visited the CB yet, I've been busy, watching football and then cooking my dinner. Just washed my hair and gave myself a lovely tan!! You should use it on your legs. It's a cream, you rub it on and 10 minutes later, hey presto. It smelled a bit odd, but I've had a shower and it looks really good, don't you think?
I nicked some of Clive's baby oil and I overdid it a bit, I'm nearly sliding off my chair.
There's been a lot of e-mails hither and thither to-day. I really enjoy that.
What have you een doing? I had hoped we'd get some rain so that I wouldn't have to water the garden, but it hasn't happened.
I'm going to have a look at the CB now, may come back to you later.
<love<

Hi FLY,
Did as you said..in fact I have erased all the posts that I have received(don't know why)But it seems that you cannot erase those that you have sent, which seems silly as they are the same. You say that I will probably guess why you wanted to get rid of your latest post;I must be thick, because I haven't a clue......Have just read your message that you are unable to explain...Don't worry!
I wonder if you resign from the board, does THAT obliterate all previous messages.
I'll try it and see what happens...If I can't rejoin the board, I'll let you know on the CB board.
Hold your breath...
Here goes...

Good morning,
Well, what a carry-on.
Now, all MY side is clear, but you are still there. Have another look.
I tried it all again last night and this time it worked.
You must wonder why all the cloak and dagger stuff, but it's about a poster (stalker)..
Will you have another try, just for me, please?
TCL has just phoned, he is well on the way, hopes to be here by 1-00. I'm just out of bed, so will have to get my skates on.
I'm glad we've started a new thread. What are you doing this week-end, apart from the footie? It must be my ignorance, but I've never rated that ref. He's meant to be so wonderful, lets players get on with the game.....Yes, he lets some of them get away with murder. I demand some discipline!!! Not nasty tackles!!!
Didn't see you around last night. I gave up about 9-00, seemed all dead, it's a bit like having SC back again. (clue?)
Bye for now. Thank you for trying. I can't understand it, did it all disappear last night and back this morning? That happened to me too until I tried again.
What a pain. There have been e-mails to-ing and fro-ing, I can tell you.
Bye love,
Have a great week-end.
Is it too hot for a ?

Hi
Have you no time to spare now, what with all the footie and cricket and godknowswhat?
Beautiful day here to-day. Just watched TCL go through his exercises, goingto have some breakfast now and then see what we'll do to-day.
Hope to see you soon.
16th June. Time to buy the champagne!

Hi FLY, I'll try to contact you again for the third time. Whenever I press preview message it tells me that I have to register first..although I have logged into my page, and my name is on the top of it.
Won't try and write too much as it may, once again, be futile.
If you receive this..send a reply.
Oh yes...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Hi
Thank you for your Birthday wishes.
I was so pleased to hear from you, I was getting seriously worried in case I had said something wrong or upset you in some way, because you didn't answer any of my threads.
Glad all is well. I, myself, never do "previeW", I just hope for the best.
I've had a lovel;y Birthday, lots of friends coming in with flowers and presents and TCL and I went out and had a lovely lunch. Just finished a bottle of champagne, and in the pub garden the silver Band is playing: "Happy Birthday to you", so there must be someone else in the village whose birthday it is.
TCL has surpassed himself this time. Lovely present (a silver bookmark, flowers and bottle of champagbe), and can't do enough for me. Wonders will never cease.
He's feeling let down by his children, of course.
Hope you are all right. We are gardening tomorrow, I hope. It's been so hot until now. Visited some lovely gardens yesterday.
Hope you receive this O.K. and that you'll be able to post back.
and
Talk soon

FLY, You perfume is divine !!! Although, sadly, I suppose TCL has been taking all the big sniffs !!!!!!
Sorry I didn't see you last night. I had only posted the one message (I think!) when Mrs.Z shouted to me that Croatia were 2-1 up on France; so I switched off the 'pooter, and went to watch the rest of the match. I intended to come back to it later but fell asleep in the armchair instead. Why is it so easy to nod off in front of the TV (especially if there is something that you want to watch) and yet so hard to sleep in bed sometimes?
Is your friend still there. From what you have said he is spoiling you rotten...Watch out,I thought I heard the merest hint of a church bell..*DING*! *DONG*!.
Well the weekend is upon us again. What are you up to? Hopefully it is more exciting than us. Main project is to clear out the garage. We haven't been able to get a car in for a couple of years...in fact I don't think that I have been able to get to the back wall for a couple of years!...wonder what treasures we will find?I know that there are at least 3 (slightly iffy) steam irons in there somewhere. If an iron is on the blink,Mrs. Z will go out and buy another one,but will put the old, iffy, one in the garage 'In case the new one ever breaks down'The fact that the only reason why she bought a new one is because the old one is no good, doesn't seem to cross her mind. We also have bits of carpet that will 'do for patching up', should the one that has just been laid get damaged...likewise half rolls of wallpaper! I can honestly say that in my nigh on forty years of marriage, I have never patched either a damaged carpet or wallpaper............It's this kind of logic that makes me love her so much!!!!!
Your man Mr. Button is working again this weekend isn't he?...'Bout time he won one isn't it? I'll look out for the result.
I may see you in the CB this evening(if you are there)although I think that we may be going out for our 'TEA'....but should be back early....and I certainly will not ignore you.
See you

Hi
It's 8.25 and we have just finished dinner. I've had rather too much of the Chilean Red and we've been talking over the dirty dishes. I was reminiscing about the time I met my husband. You would never believe it, I could write books and nobody would believe it.
How my poor husband fell in love with me I can't imagine. Our house was in compete chaos all the time. We had an outside privvy, a wooden thunderbox and the toilet paper was a Polish telephone directory at the time we met. (We discussed the language).
I had never been anywhere and thought it was all quite normal. We never had any saucers to our cups and few of those had handles. We each had our own cup and they seldom got washed up. It all seems hilarious to talk about now, but at the time it was all quite normal to me. Goodness knows what my husband thought, but he seemed to enjoy it all, it must have seemed quite "Bohemian" to him.
Yes, I'm getting spoilt rotten. He's washing up at the moment and can't do enough for me, but you can forget about the "ding dong", I don't want it and I don't think he does, we are too used to doing our own thing.
We have talked about maybe taking a holiday together IF his children are going to give him any part of their inheritance, but we are not holding our breaths.
I keep my car in the garage, it only just fits, the mirrors are so far out these days. I don't look around too much when I'm in there because all I see is too much work. You should see the cobwebs! I did clear it out once, but that's a few years ago. I think you'll be taking a trip to the tip with "any old irons", won't you? I have a lot of half-full tins of paint etc. lying about. Yesterday J. cut down a lot of my overgrown shrubs and we had a trip to the tip this morning.
Up to now we've not had an argument yet, but there's still time!!!!
No plans for the week-end so far, apart from "fish and chips" tomorrow, hope to see F1 on Sunday, but it was so boring last time, I may not watch at all. We play cards a lot and I WIN. ALL THE TIMe.
He's hobbling along a lot with the bad leg and doing lots of exercises. (boring!!!) He'd be better off with half a bottle of red, I reckon.
It's lovely to have you back on my patch. Don't know if I'll be at the CB at all this evening, can't leave him on his own all the time. Or can I?
Had a rotten night last night, even after a sleeping-pill and at 3-30 sat up in bed eating an almond slice!!! Night starvation!!
Hope you enjoy your "tea" this evening. I envy you and Mrs.Z., you sound so lovely together. Hope you spoil her a lot.
See you soon.

Hi FLY,
Sorry my posts are a litle spasmodic. I haven't been at the 'pooter as much as I used to be...I have been doing other things lately and I'm afraid I have neglected my post!! I sometimes look in late..perhaps put in the odd comment..and then it's 'lights out'.I must try harder !!
I'm afraid that I didn't follow the F1 today, so I have no idea who won....please let it be your man!!!Don't say that it was the German again....!!
As usual we went to the pub quiz tonight(after so many years..are we a tad boring?)We came third...Why is it we know that; as fingerprints are individual to humans...nose prints are individual to dogs?(Mrs. Z knew this)Yet, us blokes, didn't know that the Chelsea footballer that was recently caught up in a gem raid was Veron.
The garage is still the same. We got up this morning, the sun was shining, so we took ourselves off for a walk on the local hills. Walked for 2 or 3 miles and had breakfast(5 slices of hot buttered toast and coffee, at the nature centre)Then home, read the papers, pootled about in the garden, had lunch, kids came around for father's day(ended up with 4 bottles of very nice red wine and a massive slab of Cadbury's fruit and nut)After they had left, I had a nap..just to recharge the brain in readiness for the quiz you understand....and then off to the pub.As I have probably said before..I don't ask for much in life do I ?
Hope everything is OK with you....(whisper) How's his leg? Hope you are showing sympathy, even if you don't mean it!!!! Where do you plan to go for this holiday..somewhere romantic?..seperate rooms?.......Oh FLY, I can hear the bells again!!!
I LOVE your sense of humour.. your excuse for sitting up in bed eating an almond slice(night starvation)was wonderful....Please, never change!!
I see that SC has been allowed back onto the boards. I wonder if he is a changed man. You said that SC was a clue to something...I didn't understand..was he your stalker? Don't answer that if you don't want to.
Well FLy it's 12.35am so I s'pose I should be getting my beauty sleep...so I'll say goodnight, and maybe I'll see you in the CB tomorrow...By the way, you may not recognise me..you know that I said that some people said that I looked like Pete Waterman..well, I have grown a goatie beard(just a little facial decoration for the summer) and someone told me tonight that I looked like the seriel killer Harold Shipman !!!!!Scarey or what?

Hi
Yes, you've been a bit erratic lately, I thought you'd gone off me!
I sometimes see you on h2g2 and I think there's a message coming up, but no...
Can't wait to see your goatie, wonder if it will tickle
I expect you've seen by now that the German won again, but it was an interesting race nevertheless. Poor Button had a problem and had to come off.
Just watched the footie, exciting, wasn't it?
The leg? Don't ask!! I have been very sympathetic and at times very irritable. Not half an hour goes by or the muscles or/and joints have to be stretched. He's hobbling along with a stick now and I can't see all this exercise to be doin any good. We went to Chichester to-day, I like it there, have you ever been? We booked up at the Festival Theatre for Friday night to see a musical of Cole Porter music.(Can't remember at the moment what it's called).
Afterwards I wanted to do a little shopping, so I parked him on a bench each time while I went in and out of the shops. Back home, a good half hour of exercises!!
I do feel sorry for him, he's trying very hard to be fit, it just isn't working. Me, I think that if it hurts, lie down until I feel better, I've never liked exercise and I seem to be doing O.K.
But I feel mean when he spends hours on his hands and knees weeding my garden, it's all completely weed-free now, I hope I can keep it like that.
The holiday is a pipe-dream. His children are never going to part with anyof their inheritance. We'll soon know, the completion day of the house sale is about the 4th of July. Those bells you hear is probably tinnitus,, do have it checked out!
SC seems ro come and go now and again. Last week he was on R2 for a day and then disappeared again, maybe when they notice him they take him off. Strange, isn't it? He just sets my teeth on edge, he is so vulgar.
Glad you had a nice Father's day. If I ever have night starvation again, may I knock on your door for a piece of chocolate? Anything nutty appeals to me.
I've got to go now, duty calls!
Hope to see you again soon,
Hiya!

HI FLY,
How do you know if I am looking at h2g2? Where does it show up?
Goatie has had his first trim..so he could give you a nasty rash if you got too near( gone a bit spikey)
How's the weather down your end?....Did I see gales and torrential rain in your neck of the woods? S'pose you and TCL are snuggled up together with a nice bottle of embrocation!!At least he can't run away from you(don't s'pose he would want to anyway)
Took Mrs Z out for her 'tea' this evening. We went to a pub that we haven't been to for years, and you would never believe that they were serving a delicious carvery for £3.99 per head. I don't know how they do it! As you can guess, the place was pretty busy, even at 6.30 pm. We were back home to see the kick off for the Germany game(glad they lost and Holland went through)Missed final half of the second half due to fatigue...Mrs.Z told me the score as I drifted back to consciousness.
Caught the last 15 minutes of the boards....no time to get involved,so I'll have to try again tomorrow...Oh! Just thought..England match tomorrow....Not much 'pooter time tomorrow either then!!
If I don't hear from you before, I hope that you enjoy the theatre on friday..you'll have to sing a few of the songs to me..can't say I have heard of the show, but if it's Cole Porter there's bound to be a few well known 'toe tappers'

Hi
First, the answer to your question: how do I know you are on h2g2.
Well, when you log on, on the left-hand side of the screen you see "Who's Online". Found it? You click on there and up comes a list of people who are Online at that moment. If you don't see your name there, another list pops up about a minute later. (Just shows how many people are Online at h2g2 at any given moment). So, there it is.
We watched the footie too that evening and were so pleased Germany lost. And to-night we'll be there again. Just seen hours of tennis. We went to the local hotel where on the 3rd Thursday of the month they do a "very cheap lunch" @ £9-50. You have to book at least a week ahead, even so, we couldn't get in till 1-45, it was packed. See how lucky you "are? Do you see that funny sign before "£9-50"? It is supposed to be "at", but my pooter insists it is American and I have to keep changing it to English. No doubt some expert would know how to do it permanently.
How does Mrs Z feel about getting a rash from the goatie???
Bet it looks distinguished, though.
They mention a few of the songs from the show, but I only recognise one of them:
"From this moment on." and there is:
"Nobody's chasing me.
"Where oh where.
"Cherry pies oughtto be you.
"I am loved."
The show is a British Premiere, the story sounds quite weird, but I expect we'll enjoy the music.
I have to leave TCL on his own tomorrow, as I'm having lunch with my Dutch friends. We're still celebrating my birthday, so I have to go.
When I come back there'll just be time for a cup of tea and off we go to the theatre.
Theweather here hasn't been too bad, it's lovely and sunny even when it rains at Wimbledon. We had one day of rain and wind, two of my hollyhocks blew down.
I feel really mean when I get up in the morning and TCL is on his hands and knees weeding my garden. It looks lovely now, hope I can keep it up. He is a bad sleeper (another one)! and gets up at 5-30. When I surface he's had his breakfast and is gardening. He has never been as attentive as this time, but we are both agreed, we couldn't live together.
No, we are not snuggled up with a bottle of whatever because TCL doesn't drink. The odd glass of wine, or sometimes a gin and tonic, but that's all. We are not really compatable.
I haven't been on the boards much either, I look in some nights and if none of my favourite people are there, I can't be bothered.
And now, with the footie, there's little time anyway, is there?
Sunday TCL is on his way again and life returns to normal, but I then have loads of washing and cleaning to do. I try not to do it all in one day, but I'm out again on Monday and Tuesday, so, no time for anything, is there?
Seven o'clock, have to get ready with the snacks etc.
Hope to see you again soon. I DO like your goatie.

alzima Posted Jun 25, 2004
Hi FLY,
It's 8.35pm friday. I s'pose that you are singing your little heart out at this moment, with a bag of pop corn in one hand, and TCL's hand in the other. Ah romance..you can't beat it!!!
'How does Mrs. Z feel about getting a rash from the goatie??? Bet it looks distinguished though!'...Well no. She doesn't feel a bit distinguished with a rash all over her.(Just a weak joke!)
What about England?...How cruel that a Villa player should miss a penalty, although the Gods were agin us from the start..along with the referee!Someone said that he(the ref) walked away from the stadium with a big, fat, brown envelope sticking out of his back pocket!!Can't believe that really...!
Your garden does look nice doesn't it? You'll HAVE to keep it looking good now won't you?
Going over to the boards soon. I am like you, If there is nobody who I particularly like, I look and leave...Must try harder!!
Going to Shrewsbury tomorrow with my brother & sister to see our ancient aunt(she's 93)Not looking forward to it...My aunt can be quite tactless(she has always been like this, even before she became old)I feel guilty that I dislike her for this. I try to make allowances for her age...but I know this has nothing to do with her behaviour. What makes it worse is, I am her favourite nephew!!! Shall be glad when we are on the return journey.
How awful am I?
May speak to you over the weekend..

FLYBYNIGHT Posted Jun 27, 2004
Hi
Well, look at this! It's 8-45 on a Sunday morning and I thought I'd bring you a cup uf tea in bed.
TCL departed about half an hour ago. I can't say "went" as he's hobbling so badly, he's not actually "going", just shuffling. And I'm no better myself, I've got a terrible back-ache this morning. Don't ask! Wait till I see Clive, that baby-lotion doesn't improve your back, I can tell you.
I have to say it, TCL surpassed himself this time, heaps of presents and my smallest wish was his command, I've been spoilt rotten. The garden looks wonderful, hope I can keep it up. There's nothing he wouldn't do to please me. And yet....when you've lived on your own so long, it's the little things that irritate. I suppose, after years of marriage one shapes up, knows what irritates the other and hope not to do it, but J and I have never got that far. There are fundamental differences. He "throws" things into the washing-up bowl, throws the cutlery in te drawer, bangs the cups and saucers together and when he spoons coffee and tea it's like he's whipping up a batter for a yorkshire. I KNOW this is nit-picking and they are things that don't matter, but they get on my nerves, together with the fearful noises that emanate from the bathroom.
And he gets irritable by my fastidiousness.
And how did you get on with aunty? I believe we have no reason to like relations just because they are relations, they are other "people" and some we like and some we don't.
I had a look at last night's CB board before I wrote this and notice that nothing was happening there. Was it because of the football or because of SC? I can't believe how some people get on so easily with him, my heart sinks every time I see him there. Sad!
Fancy Mrs Z having a rash ALL OVER from your goatie. The mind boggles....
I've got the first load of washing in the machine. Lots to do. My whole kitchen is sticky, how does he do it? The lids on all jampots etc are loose, the cooker and sink are a disgrace, so I must get on with it.
Will you give my back a little massage if I tell you exactly where it hurts? I saw they were talking about us on the CB. Ha ha!!
Glad Holland got through, but what a cruel way to lose, isn't it? Although I do think Holland played a bit better.
Hope to see you later.
BTW.. The musical was O.K., no more than that, certainly not worth £35 for the ticket. Very little of the music we knew. Pity, wasn't it? And we were held-up ina traffic jam near Goodwood with all the people coming back from the "Festival of Speed". We made it to the theatre just before curtain-up.
Had 8 more birthday presents from my Dutch friends and a lovely lunch.
See you soon, hopefully

Hi FLY,
'The terrible noise that emanates from the bathroom'...Not much of a singing voice then ?? It sounds like he was just about to wear out his welcome when he hobbled off. I had high hopes for you two; but it is fairly obvious that it will never happen....Ah well...Back to the drawing board!! You know..I thought that fastidious meant, precise, accurate, strictly correct.....shows how much I know..just looked it up in my pocket dictionary, and was amazed to find that it meant,Squeamish, hard to please (from the Latin, fastidium, meaning LOATHING).....is that you FLY?..surely not?
Mrs Z was watching TINMAN playing tennis. He was two sets up...I came into the room and he lost the third set.....you might know that I got the blame..'He was doing alright until you came in!!' So I was banished to my 'pooter....might risk asking her how he has got on in a minute.
Aunty was a pleasant surprise...she has settled well into the old peoples home...and dare I say, she has become quite human...you should see how fast she can move on her zimmer....when she first went in there she could barely walk. She has made a couple of friends, and one of the care workers has taken a liking to her, so everything seems to have worked out well....My uncle, who visits most days, feels a bit jealous I think.
I'm thinking of making the 'goatie' into a 'full set' Mrs Z says that I am just trying to become a 'character', just SHOWING OFF!...Maybe.....
Am off to see what is happening on the boards now. Went over earlier..bit dead...must all be watching TINMAN.
May see you there
