I sent you a message on April 8th last night but it's disappeared into thin air! So here's a new thread.

I'm feeling really tired this week and just can't seem to get going at all. We were in Newcastle for the football and saw my Dad and Mum. Dad needs to have another op on his thigh but I don't know when. I don't fully understand but it's something to do with his hip replacement. I was just trying not to have an argument after the last time. We're at the stage when everything I say is wrong! My Mum isn't too good either as she fell last week. It's probably the worry that is making me tired!

The football result was not good and last night's was no much better. We passed Bobby Robson on the motorway and he didn't look a happy man.

Had a quick lunch with my friend (the one who was mugged) as she had a an appointment in the next village to me. We put the world to rights so felt a bit better after that.

Hope you are all set for your trip this weekend. Did you manage to find something green to wear? I saw a blouse in M&S but it wasn't a nice green. Speaking of which PP has 2 blonds lined up for the female half of Bucks Fizz- one wearing green the other black and white! Think he means us. (Eurovision thread in the CB.)

Don't know if you have read the JV board but Eric the Red is itching to get on the show tomorrow. Should be interesting if he gets on.

Hi Helen

I am sorry not to have written for a little while, but I think I am a bit down at the moment. We are still trying to sort out the dog, and then my son's problems. I keep trying hard not to cry. I'm not usually a wimp !
I am sure the week end will buck me up as they say. Bought 3 t shirts in the end, all from M&S. One green with whitish whirls, shiny bits and a ribbon;then the other 2, one white with a smidgeon of green and one blue, with West Coast written on them. Oh god, mutton dressed as lamb probably.
I am picking up 2 other girls tomorrow at 11am and I haven't packed. I did take up a pair of black trousers last night so they are all ready. Should be in Torquay for about 1.00 and hopefully the weather will be nice so will get out for a walk. Drinks are at 6.30 and then I think we eat at about 7.30 or so.
Then dance dance dance. Perhaps I shall stay in the bar !!
Haven't read PPs thread but will do so. He must know about my green theme ! I have not menioned it on the normal boards as I think someone is trying to suss out who I am. I shall deny it all !

I hope your parents are getting on all right. I agree, when you are worried about something it just wears you out. I am a dreadful worrier I know.
Saw the photo of Bobby in the DM giving the V sign to the fans ! When we went to Chester with some friends for a week end break maybe 3 years or more ago, Bobby and the N'castle team were staying at the same hotel. They were all gorgeous especially in their suits.
I will put the radio on tomorrow in the car and see what Jeremy comes up with. The weather has been really lovely here so been outside as much as possible.

Hope you had a super weekend. You had good weather I presume although I expect you were indoors more than you would have liked.

I think there must be something in the air but I'm really down too. I could have burst into tears several times today for no reason. I was talking to my mum and she said a lot of her friends were feeling the same. She said the depressing news doesn't help either. Do you have a dog as well your cats or is it your son's?

I saw the T shirts with West Coast on and they are lovely I thought about buying one too! Don't think they are mutton dressed up as you know what either. I'm intrigued have you got a stalker?

Well at least NCL have scraped into Europe so Peter is quite pleased. I'm glad the season is over as we can have a few weekends at home or at least free to go somewhere else.

Must go and make something to eat. Speak soon.

No I don't have a stalker but just someone a bit nosey who likes to feel they are one up and superior and know everything I am doing !

Whatever is wrong with Red Eric or whatever his name is. Is he standing as a BNP candidate ? I thought he was a bit snotty about your comments and the key board. (The Brenda thread)

The weather in Torquay was beautiful. I drove myself and 2 friend there on Friday am. After we checked in we went for a walk along the front and went into Debenhams and bought a sun top each. The hotel was lovely and food very good. Danced friday night till about midnight.
On Saturday as it was so nice we decided not to dance, and after breakfast we took the ferry to Brixham. 35mins each way. It was like a mini cruise! We got back about 3.00 and went off to join the dancing. Danced Sat night on and off, and eventually left Sunday just after lunch. So all in all a very pleasant few days.
I have 4 cats, and have been trying to rehome a very boisterous rottweiler for my son. He and his partner split up, and she just couldn't give the dog the attention he deserved. Plus there are the other 2 dogs and the children, so all in all rather too much. We have helped by walking the dog etc but it is a tie for us. Anyway, after months of work, the dog eventually went to the animal refuge for rehoming this morning.
My husband, the ex and I were all in tears. It is so sad. In our naivity I assumed we would still be able to visit the dog and walk him but not so. Plus he will be rehomed out of the immediate area so no chance of meeting him in the park for example. Clearly this is the righ thing for the dog, but we were all so attached to him. The children do not know he has gone, and they will be so upset.

I didn't wear my West Coast t shirts as they were far too warm !!

Sounds like you had a super trip. Glad you weren't shut in all the weekend as it was lovely. I also thought Eric the R was being a bit off. I meant it as a joke (feeling sorry of the keyboard!) but perhaps it didn't read that way. I decided ignore it for the time being anyway. I heard Brenda on Monday's programme and I think I've heard her before or perhaps the voice just sounded familiar. She did go on a bit! Do I know the nosey person? Does FF have a page on here?

Don't know if you've noticed but I think the music (on JV)is going off a bit, and JV doesn't have much sparkle in his voice at the moment. Sleepless nights perhaps. Hope all is well. I see they have started to trail the guy from R1 who is takening over from Richard Allinson soon. I'll miss R as I got into listening to him last year when Peter was in the US.

I've finally got a pop up stopper program that seems to work. They were driving me insane!

I'd be in tears over the dog as well, but I'm sure you have done the right thing. I'm a soft touch with animals and feel so sorry for them.

I finally got round to ordering a wedding gift for next weekend from a J Lewis on line wedding list. A bit impersonal I thought but things have changed.

No more news this end. I wonder when the MBs will be back?

Hi Helen,
just been e mailing Catharina. She is having problems with her pc at the moment and has lost all her e mail addresses. What a nuisance for her.
Just got in from swimming and had a good catch up as well as doing about 20 lengths. My friend has just come back from hols to Nice, Cannes and Monte Carlo and had brought along her photos. Next week we are not going swimming but are going for a meal with mutual girl friends. We usually get together about every 6 weeks and so have plenty to talk about.
My grand daughter phoned in tears just before I went swimming. I was trying hard not to cry. She was so upset that she hadn't said goodbye to the dog. She's only 7, but I managed to calm her, and she was reasonably assured when we finished chatting. Poor little girl. I shall phone her mummy in a minute.
We are going to an evening wedding reception and have received the invite. The wedding list is at John Lewis's as well ! But that's the way they do things these days isn't it.
I wonder why the boards aren't working. I've posted 3 messages before realising everything is stuck in a time warp at 16 May !
I have hardly listened to the radio apart from a bit of Ken Bruce the last couple of mornings. I do like him. He makes me laugh. What a shame I missed Brenda. I wonder if I would like her ?

FF is not over here. Would be fun to know a little about him. No my stalker is a friend who is rather over powering and forceful. She has been on the boards but not over here. Things like getting upset about the dog I just don't talk about with her. She would probably say something like well it's just an animal. Which I know, but I don't need anyone to be harsh at the moment.
God, I am such a misery at the moment. My husband says I have to stop crying.

You are probably out dancing now but just had to tell you something...later.

It's something I dread happening - computer crashing and losing everything, a timely reminder to back up some more recent things. Catharina and I are both on W 98 so we don't have that system restore that is on XP.

Can't believe how many new names on JV board since they are back up and running! Don't know if you have read all the messages yet. Re Brenda, since hearing her the other day something has been knawing at me (Miss Marple working overtime again!) well my suspicions are confirmed. (post on the CB about Shell). She used to post as Mine Hostess with the Mostest. For the next bit you need to read the post on JV "Monday's prog" (2nd page of postings) and the reply, re hotel in dubai. Well I'd forgotten that I'd taped the last hour of JV to hear B. as a friend often phones Monday and I wanted to hear her. Well I heard the show anyway and had forgotten about taping it until I read the post. Have just listened back and she said Happy Birthday but none of the rest!..... They don't pre-record it (or they didn't when I was on)so I don't think there is time to have edited it out. What do you make of that? Last weekend she seemed to be following me around the board. Don't want to ignore her but can you see what I mean?

Not sure what we will get up to this weekend. We need to paint the bathroom as we had a new window put in Tuesday, but I thought it was going to be hot again so suggested we did bedding plants. Seems it will be cool so it's wait and see! If I don't buy some bedding plants there will be none left after Chelsea Flower Show as they all go mad and buy out the garden centres round here.

Looks like my Dad will have his op in the next few weeks so I hope it goes ok.

Evening Helen. Just got in and went to suss out the situation. Do you think she was joking ?
And was she not also known as Dee Lightful who was off to run a pub in Liverpool ?
I don't think she's my cup of tea. Too much in the Shellay mould. I dont think I ever told you this but when I first went on the Coffee board, S was very rude and so I never went back for months.
See Teresa is posting as 'Freedom.' Also PP is posting as Cptn Mainwaring. I see Brenda was saying she hadn't seen him about, little realising he was there under her nose so to speak !!

I can't believe there are so many new people. I think we need new blood, but one or two of them I can do without !!

We are out for a meal tomorrow night. 8 of us in total, and we are going to a lovely restaurant. Can't wait.
Been line dancing tonight and badminton this am. Walked the remaining 2 dogs and tried not to think of the other one. I hope he is all right.

Tell Catharina she should post on Jeremy. She is very funny and witty. Saw her message re the tandem but of course the boards are shut on my return from dancing.

Well it's painting this morning so I'm the mate. It's amazing how much junk gets accumulated in the bathroom! There's only the ceiling and 1/4 of the walls that are not tiled so shouldn't take too long.

I'd forgotten about the pub business which must have fallen through as she said she was looking for a job. I thought Dee Light was someone else but you could be right. Don't know about you but J does not strike me as the kind who would say that even off air somehow - maybe I've got him wrong and he is a man! I listened again and he's talking before and after to the 'expert' guest perhap's it's all in her dreams! It was a question about computers that got me on and I only spoke to J whilst on air. It don't think I'd like to air all my dirty washing how some do, but I suppose some are desperate. I wish you had heard the show!


No I didn't know about S. I'd forgotten about Teresa and Freedom until PP mentioned it but should have recognised the pattern of her postings. I did smile about the Capt M post right near B! Oh dear I hope I'm not coming over as bitchy.

Must mention to Catharina about JV. I wish Dalek was back somehow the atmosphere was different.

Gotta go painter is requesting my presence!

Happy Anniversary, or belated greetings. Fly and PG - who is a bad (but funny) girl-have sent messages on the CB.

I am always the mate. I'm Charlie to his Alan Titchmarsh so to speak !
Beautiful weather here. I have just played badminton and dripped buckets, then home for lunch which included a bottle of lager. Half price at Tesco's. Grolsch.
Going to sunbathe then when the main man comes home we should be going to the garden centre. I MUST plant out my pots.
My sweet peas have died unfortunately. I think it's because I forgot to water them.

See B is becoming a prolific poster ! There was a very nasty comment on the CB yesterday about Jason. Fortunately it was removed as clearly it was cause for complaint.

I miss Dalek, and also FF is not about. See that Lucilla is about. God, she creases me up, she is so droll.

Just remembered I haven't replied, sorry. Don't know where the week has gone to! I'm now getting in a panic over what to take for the weekend as we're at the wedding tomorrow. Typically the weather looks a bit off for the NE!

Went out with a friend last night but it was a bit of a disaster. We both got caught up in the gridlock around Manchester on the M60, she was coming South and I was going North to the Trafford centre! At least Sally traffic kept us informed. We arrived too late to go to the cinema so just went for a wander around the shops instead and had a meal which was really nice.

Thanks for the anniversary message. It was a lovely day and then my 2000 posts! The JV board seems to have exploded all of a sudden but they don't seem to want to reply to one another, just make their own point. I can't follow it all. I must get out more! B seems to be following me around I am trying not to encourage her but I feel obliged to reply to some of them. Have you noticed she leaves a message for me nearly everyday? I wouldn't have bothered with 'song' most days this week.

Are you doing anything over the weekend? I bought a few plants but couldn't get into it somehow. Our sweet peas are a bit slow. Did you get any growth from the seeds that you scattered?

I think Catharina goes away tomorrow so she'll be a miss.

Yes, the JV board is full of people who just want to make the one point, and in a negative way as well.

I hope you enjoy the wedding. Yes, the weather forcast is miserable all round. It's grey here but so hot. Feels like thunder in the air.

I have seeds coming up all over the place, you just would not believe it. I wonder what they'll turn out to be.

This week I potted up 14 pots; I was worn out by the time I'd finished. Not doing anything exciting this week-end. I suspect my son's ex is going away with the children so we'll be having her two dogs.
No news, enjoy your trip, take care on the roads (unless you're flying of course) Hope you parents are keeping well
