Hi Jen

It's after the silly time for today thank goodness so thought I'd leave you a message. How did the dentist go?
I sometimes don't know which I dislike more the hairdresser or the dentist. You have little control of what either do to you in the end!

Don't know if you heard Jeremy today but I thought his April fool was really good and was surprised he got as many people to go along with it (I presume they did know what was going on)!

No news, as not a lot happening. Had an invite to a 21st in Newcastle on Easter Sunday lunchtime. I'm trying to find a diplomatic excuse for not going. As I think there is a footy match on the same day they will expect a brief appearance at the least! We'll probably end up in going.

Hope all okay

Evening Helen.

Yes the April 1st things were fun. I assume the hoax in the Daily Mail is the Queen at the bookies !!

Dentist was a nightmare. A solid hour in the chair, he broke 3 drills -no doubt I'll be charged extra - he still hadn't managed to empty the root canal of the stuff/cement which was holding together the original bridge. Another appt in 3 weeks time and he'll go through the side via the gum. Oh joy ! Joking aside, although I felt nothing in the chair, apart from getting a headache with the whining noise of the drill, I certainly paid for it last night. 8 x 500mg paracetamol later, I was still wandering around at 6.30 am.

But today not so bad, just a dull ache. Met 4 girls from work at the Italian for lunch. I slurped my way through some tortellini and the obligatory red wine.

Got my hosp apptmnt, for next week, 10.30 am so I am quite happy about that.
Not much other news. Badminton in the morning and dancing in the evening. I saw Briant had a joke about line dancers some time this week. Told you everybody thinks we're all the Achey Breaky Heart type. I am keeping very quiet.

I know what you mean when you don't want to go somewhere, like your 21st invitation. Some times these things are more enjoyable than expected. Probably cos expectations are low !

Hi Jen

Couldn't remember what we were talking about so on this one hence the 2 replies.

The queen in the Daily Mail was good! I must have missed Briant's joke. I keep saying I'll lurk but then I see something and off I go. I missed most of the bit with the Muslim guy on JV so didn't feel able to comment for once! I'm glad they haven't reposted the Gay Marriage thread as I can't remember what I said!

I take it your tooth has settled down, I felt bruised for a couple of days. It sounds awful.

Good luck for next week. I wonder what Amanda will be like on JV...

Speak soon

Helen

Hi Helen.

Yes the tooth has settled down thank goodness. After badminton today, I met a girl from work. We always got on very well even though she is a lot younger than I am. She has so many problems in her home life and she hates work but unfortunately she is the bread winner. Her husband tells her to give up, but she doesn't know how they would manage, especially as they have 2 young children.

So we had a lovely lunch and she talked for about an hour and a half and felt loads better. I suppose it's a bit like counselling !

The Muslim guy on JV was dreadful. I only heard a very short part of the interview, but it was not good.
Hope your new hair style is going well. I am having mine done the week after next. I think I will go blonder. We'll see.

Weather beautiful again today.

Jury's out over hair! I've got the colour thingy on Tuesday so another half a day gone! I think I'll look around for someone else after this.

I know what you mean about the couselling. I've a friend with loads of problems that have been on going for years. Poor soul is married to a solicitor so dreads the thought of divorce. She say's I'm her rock at times!

How are your family? Mine have led me a bit of a dance recently. My Mum fell out with her cousin who lives below her (My parents divorced when I was 11) in January and they have spoken to each other for the first time this week. I felt like piggy in the middle and to make matters worse I thought my Mum was really more at fault but of course dare not say so! My Dad fell out with his sister, a love hate relationship a lot of the time anyway, but this time I don't think they will make it up. When my heating went I think it felt like the last straw! I somtimes thing listening to JV helps keep me sane.

Hi Helen.

My father died when I was 20. He went off to work as usual and had a massive brain haemmorage (Spelling ?). He was dead when the ambulance arrived at the hospital. He was only early 50s.

My mum died at 77 from cancer, after a short but very sad 6 months of treatment.

My sister had a kidney transplant when she was in her early 20s. My mother was the donor. Both of them had some odd blood group. But, my sister is fine and works as a beauty lecturer at her local college. She has had cancer of the lymph glands and bowel cancer, but she just gets on with things. Never moans and is just a lovely nand funny person. Because of all the health problems she has never had children unfortunately. But, as I say, she accepted it all as being in the grand scheme of things.

My daughter is fine. Son is having a traumatic time since splitting from his partner. I certainly know how the piggy in the middle syndrome feels.

Families !! As my son says, 'I blame the parents'

Anyway, moan over. Other half on the golf range and I am waiting for his return so we can take the dogs out. (They are my son's partners and she and the kids are away on holiday)

Hi Jen,

It does you good to have a moan! We seem to have longevity in our family, my maternal Granny lived to be 104 and had all her faculties right until the end. The first thing she did was read the deaths in the evening paper and then look at the back page for the football news!

They say divorce affects you as a child, well I think it is almost worse when they get older! Mine are 77 and 75 and are so possesive which is made worse because I don't live close.

Such is life!

Your parents are both getting on aren't they. I can imagine it can be very hard trying to please both mother and father. Sometimes you can do neither can you.

My mother was 1 of 10 children and most died by mid to late 70s. But, I have 2 old aunts in their 80s and they just don't speak. The row was over money when their last remaining brother died.
I think it's all very sad, but they won't listen. Because they all live so far away I don't get involved in all the arguments.
I dread one of them dying as I am sure the remaining sister will feel awful. But, what can you say or do.
My father, his mother and his grandmother all died early 50s. My husband has pointed out that my sister and I have both lived longer than any of the last 3 generations !

Just remembered you saying you got some jeans from per uno. They are the best jeans I have ever had ! I got a dark blue and a black stretch, on the waist, and slim leg. I love them. I look so slim !!

Oh how excellent !! It was all good natured fun as well. Hope Fly saw it too.

There is a thread on h2g2, god knows how long it is, where the dialogue is no dialogue just body language.

Perhaps we could try that on the CB or JV sometime ?

Hi Jen

Just a quickie! That Amanda doesn't get any better does she. Listened back for a while but only because I was by the computer. I'm afraid she is just boring.

It was a bit like old times last night. My spelling was atrocious in places but I was making it up as I went along and was rushing so that the order wouldn't be lost, which for once didn't happen.

Weather awful up here today, sideways rain and sleet.

Haven't seen the thread you mean but sounds intriguing.

Speak to you later.

Evening Helen.

Other than on a couple of occasions, I've not listed to JV show this week.

Amanda whats her name is the pits. I have just replied to a thread by FF. Perhaps I will get modded.

It was great the Radio R thread, and even better because it was all in perfect order - well mainly.
My message looks a bit stupid !

Jen
