Morning Helen,

How are you ? Weather very strange. Whatever happened to summer. Any more plans to get away ? We hope to be away in September; don't care where.
Do you still get PP's manuscripts ? Still very funny I expect. He has been on top form these past few days. (Well, isn't he always !)

Bye

Hi Jen

Gosh I think the summer is over too, this morning it was so dark, almost like a winter's morning. Sorry I didn't reply to a post on the MB this morning but they were so slow I gave up! I sometimes wonder if it's my computer.

We have no more plans at the moment, although I would quite like to go to Majorca next month. Peter hasn't put any holidays in and his diary is filling up fast, I also would like to have a few days in Southern Ireland.

The football result was disappointing but I saw both my Mum and my Dad, who is doing well, so it was a worthwhile trip. I also found a rum baba! It was delicious.

I haven't heard from PP for a while and I think the writing is off for the moment with the family being there. He's not been on JV today so wonder if the broadband has gone off again? I roared with laughter at one of the posts last week, forgotten which one now but they were all good.

Are you back to normal now of taking things easy still for a while?

The sun has actually come out here, can't believe it, it still looks a bit stormy though. I hope it dries up for the weekend. My tubs are looking a bit sorry for themselves now. I think I may go and see if they have any winter stuff in at the garden centre.

Will try and get in to the CB later on (speed permitting!)

Speak soon!

Helen

Morning Helen,

Sunny here but for how long ? My tubs and hanging baskets are looking very sorry for themselves. Very bedraggled.
I shall be visiting the garden centre shortly and replenishing my stocks (not the flowers smiley - biggrin). Also, I shall have to take cuttings of my existing plants and shrubs and get them potted up ready for next year. Gosh, almost through 2004 already.

Never been to Majorca, though been to Minorca about 3 or 4 times. It's a lovely little island.

I must admit, I absolutely roar with laughter at some of the things he writes. He's brilliant. Yes, I have noticed he's not about so he's either very busy with the family or he's got major problems again. No doubt we'll hear all about it !

The boards are so slow aren't they ? Speak soon,

love

Jen

Hi Jen

I have just realised I hadn't replied, sorry, I came to do it this afternoon then the phone went.... fatal!

I don't know where this year has gone to, but it definitely feels like we've come to the end of summer up here.

We haven't booked anything yet for Majorca. We were there a few years ago at a tiny resort, there were only 2 hotels and the only expansion was a golf complex which I think is now finished. We always said if we went back we'd hire a car and have a look round at a few of the unspoilt places.

I'm so sick of the rain, never seen anything like it, and I've been a bit down this week probably because of it. I went out to M&S yesterday in the mood for buying something and of course there was nothing I liked! All I could see were thigh high mini skirts in Per Una and ponchos (I remember them last time round!). I didn't really think the skirts were me!smiley - laugh

PP seems to have had more than a few problems, including a lightning strike the other day! His posts have been funny as usual since he got back.

Peter's not a happy chappy with the football as NCL haven't won a match yet this season.

Do you do cuttings from geraniums? I've a few really nice ones this year but I've only overwintered the whole plant and they sometimes come back a bit misshapen. We could do with a proper gardening spot on JV as well as the allotment man!

Well I'm in need of a glass of something. Have you seen the Radio Jackie website? There are some different photos of Jason to do with his Inca Trail.

Hae a lovely weekend if I don't speak to you tomorrow.

Love

Helen.

Hi Helen,

Quiet night for me tonight. On my own in the house, which I do like, but went on the CS board then suddenly nobody is there. Shall phone my sister and my best friend in a minute.

The last few weeks have been an absolute nightmare. Just been one thing after another.

But, at the beginning of September, I shall be back to badminton, dancing, swimming plus I have enrolled (?) for a daytime language class with my husband !!smiley - erm

I have been on dog duty (that sounds oddsmiley - biggrin) as my son's ex is away again with the children. My husband is not happy, especially as I've not been well, but what can you do ? I cannot say no.
Perhaps I should enrol at an assertiveness class smiley - smiley.

Yesterday I sorted out my hanging baskets and my pots. They were starting to look very bedraggled. My husband did all the heavy work by emptying all the soil. I don't do cuttings from my geraniums, simply because they are relatively cheap to buy in the spring.

PP is in good form. His wife must be hysterical half the timesmiley - biggrin

He has e mailed me and asked for my address. But, Helen, I am paranoid. Even my son says he is getting like me !

I know who Bc is !!! Clues: likes tennis, F1 racing, doesn't work, single, young, male, enjoys reading, books, sweet, funny, very intelligent. Only posts, usually, during the day. But the main thing, he is, or seems to be, a very decent guy. Pity I'm not youngersmiley - biggrin

Of course, when confronted, he has denied it. (See my conversation list !!)
Originally I thought it might have been someone a little older, but......
I'll go and look at the Radio Jackie site. Jason does look lovely doesn't he.
When my daughter and I went shopping for her birthday presents, I bought two lovely pairs of trousers from Per Uno.
One pair is brown cord, bootleg and supposed to be off the hip, but as I am quite slim, they sit on my waist. The other pair, again from Per Uno, is in cream linen and really very nice.

I bought a top from Principles in John Lewis just before we went to Italy. It's black material, with sort of black taffeta see through sleeves. Lovely, but I think I have ruined it with either perfume or deodorant. Perhaps Catharina might know what to do, especially as she is a member of the WIsmiley - biggrin
Anyway, I have made up my mind that once Penny is back from her holiday, I shall e mail her and give you and Catharina my e mail address. Maybe PP too, but he'll have to reply as a womansmiley - erm

Love

Hi Jen

what a wash out of a weekend! We are going to a barbeque later on this afternoon, I think it will be indoors somehow.

Not sure about BC being Rich Dee, would love to know just who he is! Did you read JV (the marathon post) where Eric the red in diguise asked Rosie if she was on Trill and she didn't get the joke? I almost fell aboutsmiley - laugh! I can't work her out, she seems to fall into every trap (I'm being catty now sorry!).

Must look again at Per Una. I know what you mean about the hips/waist thing. I find they do that to and gape on the waist.

Must go but will write again.

Love

Helen
