THOUGHT PROVOKING

Hello Universal Granny,
It's lovely to meet you in this quiet little corner.
My mum was evacuated to Wales from the East End during WW2 but she hated being away from my Nanna so much she went back. My little sister and I used to climb into bed with Mum on weekend mornings, Dad made us tea and toast and we would listen to her memories of London during the war. Now she tells my children stories from her childhood.
I love your name! I'm a mummy and should expect to wait some time until I'm a granny. Not that I don't want to be one, hope and pray I shall be, but my children are only 7 and 9!

Have shared this with my friends and they love it. It's great and I find myself reading it over and over. Thank you ED.
God : Hello. Did you call me?
Me: Called you? No.. Who is this?
God : This is GOD. I heard your prayers. So I thought I will chat.
Me: I do pray. Just makes me feel good. I am actually busy now. I am in the midst of something..
God : What are you busy at? Ants are busy too.
Me: Don't know. But I cant find free time. Life has become hectic. It's rush hour all the time.
God : Sure. Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you results. Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.
Me: I understand. But I still cant figure out. By the way, I was not expecting YOU
to buzz me on instant messaging chat.
God : Well I wanted to resolve your fight for time, by giving you some clarity. In this net era, I wanted to reach you through the medium you are comfortable
with.
Me: Tell me, why has life become complicated now?
God : Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it complicated.
Me: why are we then constantly unhappy?
God : Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. You are worrying because you are analyzing. Worrying has become your habit. That's why you are not
happy.
Me: But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty?
God : Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is optional.
Me: But then, there is so much pain due to uncertainty..
God : Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.
Me: If suffering is optional, why do good people always suffer?
God : Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don't suffer. With that experience their life become better not bitter.
Me: You mean to say such experience is useful?
God : Yes. In every terms, Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.
Me: But still, why should we go through such tests? Why cant we be free from problems?
God : Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons (to) Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you are free from problems.
Me: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don't know where we are heading..
God : If you look outside you will not know where you are heading. Look inside.
Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight.
Heart provides insight.
Me: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in the right direction. What should I do?
God : Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you rode ahead. You work with the compass. Let others work with the clock.
Me: In tough times, how do you stay motivated?
God : Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go.
Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.
Me: What surprises you about people?
God : when they suffer they ask, "why me?" When they prosper, they never ask "Why me" Everyone wishes to have truth on their side, but few want to be on the side of the truth.
Me: Sometimes I ask, who am I, why am I here. I cant get the answer.
God : Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are here. Create it. Life is not a process of discovery but a process of
creation.
Me: How can I get the best out of life?
God : Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence.
Prepare for the future without fear.
Me: One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.
God : There are no unanswered prayers. At times the answer is NO.
Me: Thank you for this wonderful chat.
God : Well. Keep the faith and drop the fear. Don't believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs. Life is a mystery to solve not a problem to resolve. Trust me. Life is wonderful if you know how to live.

Hi
It really is brilliant. I've shared it with some of my friends here and I've put it on my parish website. Everyone that's got back to me thinks it's excellent.
Electric Shepherd sent it to me. What a lovely man.

HI. I found this verse on a greeting card a few years ago.
A Thought for Today
by Edward J Wright.
Forget about the days when it's been cloudy
But don't forget your hours in the sun.
Forget about the times you've been defeated.
But don't forget the victories you've won.
Forget about mistakes that you can't change now.
But don't forget the lessons that you've learned.
Forget about misfortunes you've encountered.
But don't forget the time your luck has turned.
Forget about the days when you've been lonely.
But don't forget the friendly smiles you've seen.
Forget about the plans that didn't seem to work out right.
But don't forget to always have a dream.
May you Always have a Dream.
From Pamela.

Hello again. You may know this. It was an hit record for Les Crane in 1971 and it is on some websites, but I think it's worth putting it here.
Desiderata by Max Hermann.
Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly;and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nuture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome disipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. &From Pamela.

I hope it's O.K to put one of my own. I wrote it for someone last year.
At this Sad Time.
When friends lose someone close to them
And words are hard to find;
What can I say to comfort you
And help to ease your mind ?
When 'sorry' does not seem enough
What more can I say
That might give you strengh to cope
And face up to each day ?
There is one thing I'd like to say;
Remember with love - and a smile.
Loved ones would not like to see
You crying all the while.
They will not be forgotton
Though they may not be here,
Love and memories will live on;
In your heart they will always be near.
From Pam.
