Wow
Posted Oct 31, 2011
Amazing, that last entry was made sooooo long ago! Lots has happened. Also nothing has happened. I am still working on this house, lmao. It's late and I am going to bed but I will update tomorrow with what madness has occurred.

House Joy continues
Posted Apr 30, 2003
Wow, it's been a looooong time since I posted here! The office is DONE. It's still gold, with medieval red trim, new carpet is a mix of colors - black, red, gold, white, etc. We've a shelf with wrought iron brackets to hold our fax and printer, and a black faux marble countertop all along one wall as desk space.
Redid the old office as a guestroom - white wicker daybed, blue and white striped ticking comforter and curtain, pictures of boats and lighthouses, assorted sea-themed objets, and a handpainted dresser with "I must go down to the sea again" written around the top.
Now the REAL fun begins. Bathroom. We are building on a second bathroom, a luxury master bath. Hm. I am utterly overwhelmed by the choices I can make for this thing. All I know is, I want a 6 foot tub with jets, and a bidet. Colors? Tiles? Design? Theme? Muhahahaha, think I have a clue about that? I have to begin running around this weekend to look at stuff, model homes, etc., because they will start in November and all that stuff has to be here by then!

Hole in the ceiling
Posted Aug 24, 2000
House renovation continues! How glorious to come home and find your husband has cut a large rectangular hole in the ceiling outside your bedroom. He is installing plywood flooring in the second attic and putting in a pull-down ladder.
Redecorating madness continues - the border paper for the Purple Room would not stick, not even with wallpaper paste. So yours truly is stenciling her mad little heart out.
And we've decided that the gold bedroom should really be the office. So furniture needs to be sold, new furniture bought, carpet ripped up, Pergo put down, bookshelves built and countertop constructed.
Despite needing this and furniture in three rooms I am saving like mad to take my husband to Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic for his 50th birthday next year. Carpe diem!

House Update
Posted May 16, 2000
OK, so I finished painting the one room, and we wallpapered over the ballerinas with embossed paper and then painted that. That room is done! Hooray! Well, except for another picture. Everything in this house is like that. Done except for....one thing. The livingroom needs new couches and valances. The kitchen needs new furniture. The guestroom needs a picture. The office needs to be moved to the newly painted room which needs a new floor. The old office needs paint and a daybed. The master bedroom needs new furniture. And the yard! Forget it! That yard needs EVERYTHING!

Wallpaper Redux
Posted Feb 15, 2000
God this wallpaper project is turning into a career! I took down the wretched baby paper only to learn that whoever put it up did not size the wall first so the paint lifted off with it. Now I am immersed in peeling all this paint off down to the wallboard. What a mess. Had I known this I would have put up some glypta paper and painted over that. This is just horrible! And it is being tracked all over the house. I will have to Shop Vac 2100 square feet of living space when this is through!
