More Stress Relief!
Posted May 14, 2004
Morning everyone
Those of you who know me will know that life has been a bit stressful recently. Now that matters have been cleared up I thought I give you a brief (ish) resume of what's been going on.
My journal entry of the 10th March gives the story of PL and his problems with a school cleaner up until what we thought was the end of it all. Far from it............
On Monday 10th May I received a call asking us to go in and see the Head as the cleaner had been to the police and laid a charge of sexual assualt against PL, relating to the incident in March. I went and saw the Head and Housemaster on Tuesday afternoon and they told me that owing to the seriousness of the allegation it was possible that the Lad would be arrested and an appointment had been made for Thursday evening for him to go and make a statement. I have to say they were absolutely livid with this woman and backed PL 100%. The Housemaster went to the police on Wednesday and gave the investigating (incredibly nice) WPC all the school's documentation about the event, including witness statements etc and she followed this up with a chat with the cleaner. In the mean time Pondboy had to go up to the school on Wednesday and break the news to the Lad who was obviously upset and angry but determined to clear his name. When we arrived at the police station yesterday evening we were told by the WPC that she had had a long talk with the woman and she had decided to drop charges and he just had to make voluntary statement to tie up the paperwork. Relief all round
It transpires that the (young) woman has a body image problem and that when she heard the boys laughing, after the event, she thought that they were laughing at her rather than at poor PL's utter embarrasment. She has since had a breast enlargement operation. She is clearly a troubled person and we are now trying to move on and understand.
What this doesn't tell you is all the appalling anguish we have all been through and the range of emotions we have had to deal with: anger, hatred, sadness, fear, depression, frustration to name but a few, but what kept us going was the love and total support of friends and family.
Thankyou all of you for your support and kindness. Just putting this into words helps although I must admit I feel emotionally wrung out at the moment and somehow not as happy as I thought I would do. The Lad is still sleeping (it's 11 am), the least he deserves, and I shall be spoiling him rotten when he wakes.
GCSE's start next week, should be a doddle after all this!!

Tuesday 23rd March
Posted Mar 23, 2004
Does anyone know where March is disappearing to? I don't seem to have been in touch with anyone for a few days .
Starting to be our busy time as people decide that they need their ponds looking beautiful for Spring , plus PL is off on a 16 day rowing trip to South Africa (Port Alfred) this Friday (I think we might miss him !). He has also got his Drama GCSE production to get through on Wed and Thurs nights, final Assembly on Friday morning then we have to be at Heathrow for 1.30 pm!
Pondboy has been busy putting 600 miles on the new bike so that it can have its first service and then he can "really open it up" or something
Spring is really springing round here now and even some of the bulbs I planted last year are coming up . Looking forward to the lambs soon

A good day
Posted Mar 10, 2004
Hi to everyone
I spent the afternoon with PL (I love him so much it hurts ) as he had his Kinesiology session and he is fine and just wanting to put the whole sordid issue behind him. As he said, if he wanted to 'cop a feel of anyone' it wouldn't have been with a total minger!
Anyway it's all done and dusted as far as we are all concerned.
Pondboy and are out this evening to kick-off the birthday celebrations so I may be gone a while.
Good luck in Corrie's Cafe tonight.
I may need help tomorrow

Stress relief!
Posted Mar 10, 2004
Sorry if I've been a bit mysterious over the last few days. Here's a quick explanation:
On Friday afternoon I had a telephone call from the lad's housemaster. He was letting us know that the lad had been accused of a sexual assault by one of the cleaners at school (he's a boarder) and that we needed to pick him up and bring him home for the weekend. Cue PG going insane with worry, PB not much better although of course, more rational (are there special 'motherly' hormones?).
Apparently , at morning break on Friday, Pondlad and a couple of his mates were playing blind man's bluff in the boarding house corridor and he had a large towel wrapped around his head fastened with a school tie (yes, I know 15yr olds should be a bit more mature but what can you do?). During the course of some very lively horseplay one of the mates pushed PL and he fell on a female cleaner who was vacuuming in the corridor. Unfortunately the first thing that came to hand as he steadied himself was her breast! He apologised profusely as soon as he realised what he had done and the boys retired to PL's room.
Unfortunately this is where the stories diverge. The cleaner says that he kept his hand on her longer than he should have and was basically 'copping a feel' and that the boys were laughing at her after the incident. PL says that he had no idea that he had even grabbed a breast as he was blindfolded at the time and that he would certainly never have done it on purpose. As for the laughter, his friends were laughing at him because, as any of you who know young teenage boys will understand, there is nothing funnier than boobies and the total embarrassment of someone who's accidentally touched one. Especially if the woman is old enough to be his mother.
Anyway, her feelings were obviously hurt and so she reported him. We had to wait until last night to be told that she had decided to forget about the whole matter. So relief all round, although PL feels very angry at the woman and it has taken a lot of calming down from me to stop him from asking her for an apology.
I am seeing him this afternoon as I am taking him to his Kinesiologist for some ADD treatment which will also hopefully help him regain his mental equilibrium!
Phew! Did i say a 'quick' explanation?
Thanks for all the (premature!) birthday wishes for PB. The outlaws have just been round with his present and to inspect the new decor, of which they approve T.G.
Anyway I'm off to celebrate with & . Anyone else interested?
& to all my friends. What would I do without knowing you are there?

Pondboy's motorbike
Posted Mar 9, 2004
Mostly these last few days I have been listening to Pondboy obsessing about the imminent arrival of his nice new motorbike. At least my crashhelmet is nicer than his.
The Bike arrives on Thursday, so I expect him to be spending his time doing Valentino Rossi (Monkeyboy) impersonations to the local motorists. O happy day.
