Really! I expect better things than multiple exclamation marks from you, T.

Yes, I struggle constantly aginst corruption by the insidious illiteracy of the Internet... nicely alliterative, that, don't you think? In any case, I must point out that those were interrogatives, not exclamation points. Really, I expected better than that from you, T. :o)
Pedantry aside, how are you, old boy? Perfectly splendid to hear from you. Hope you and all your family are happy and healthy. I've missed you all and often wanted to get in touch, but quite apart from not being entirely sure it would be welcome, I'm a terrible correspondent and never seem to get around to contacting all the people I mean to! Very glad to have heard from you, though, and here of all places - quite appropriate, I thought. :o)

I notice that you've added me to your friends list. This honour -- if such it is -- has been reciprocated.

Moke! Is it yerself, then? Lovely to see you here, dear, but if you touch my chocolate you die. Just because I'm off the stuff doesn't mean I have to let anyone snaffle it on me.

:o)

This truly is a heart-touching reunion!
Moke you didn't tell me you were on this too!
This is going to be fun!

Question marks. I prefer the name 'question marks'. It suggests that the question is already there and that this symbol is marking it. The name interrogatives seems to me to imply that the symbol is itself asking a question. PG Wodehouse called them 'marks of interrogation' in a little piece quoted by Lynne Truss in Eats, Shoots & Leaves. A good name, I think.

And yourself, how are you? We're all healthy, as far as I can tell. (I'm not the most observant person on the planet, I must admit.) Yes, h2g2 is an appropriate place to meet. Did I not once thrust a large book into your hands and say 'Read that!'? And you reciprocated by getting me to read Pratchett. A good exchange.

TRiG.

(Okay, the stuff between the '' and '' marks should be in italics but isn't. I could use quotation marks, but won't.)

A valid point, but it still doesn't excuse you calling them exclamation marks!

I'm fine. Living in Dun Laoghaire, working in town, and planning a Great American Odyssey next May - can't wait! Nothing exciting but that to tell, really.

Yes, it was entirely your fault I ever got acquainted with The Book; and my life has never been the same since. Whether that's a good thing or not depends on your point of view. I think it's great; those of my friends and family who haven't read the book and are terrorised by quotes wish I'd never laid eyes on the thing.

Hello to all! Thanks to Evenstar for the invite. Anyone with a head for anagrams will know firly quickly who this is, of course that assumes previous knowledge! But I think everyone here knows me. Jonathan did indeed panic, and subsequently released his canine attachment. Funny the things one can effortlessly recall for no good reason! There are so many things I know I've forgotten, and so many things I've forgotten I know. Well, here's to the re-union!
BTW, is it just me or does the bar of chocolate above look decidedly phallic? Be a'Freud, be very a'Freud.

smiley - bubbly HERE'S to the re-union!

Yes, there were only two people on the planet who could have left me that message, and given the screen name it required no very powerful exercise of the intellect to figure out which it was.

Did you also see Moke's internet-friendly interpretation of the "tempting leg"?

I've looked at that bar of chocolate every way I can, including cross-eyed and as close to upside-down as possible without seriously damaging my monitor or myself, and I can't see anything even remotely phallic about it. It must be just you. Anyway, since when did phalluses come in purple wrappers? Erm... you probably shouldn't answer that.

By the bye, TRiG, how did you find me on here in the first place?

Well, Evenstar42, I came across a piece of paper with a Geocities address on it. I looked at it a couple of times last year. This year it had changed. (Your front page has changed anyway. A Google search reveals that the rest of it is still there, but in hiding!)

I joined h2g2 a good while ago, but had done nothing since.

TRiG.

Yes, the website has been put on hold for the moment because of what happened in America (don't know if you know about that, and now is not the time); most of its content is now irrelevant and some of it is painful. So I took it down until I get around to overhauling it. I didn't know you could find it via search engine. Might have to do something about that.

If you're referring to my beloved brother, he'd never leave that message for me. That particular 'in-joke' has always been associated with you and Moke; we never used it between ourselves!
