For some reason I keep missing you and I wondered what you are doing in
Romania.
I saw somewhere that (partner?) Tom has been ill, hope he is feeling better.
I expect we'll meet up again soon.

Dear Fly
Thanks for the message! Yes Tom is much improved thanks very much. Must say I am most relieved. You know how men are when they suffer some minor ailment?.... a cold to them is bronchial pneumonia, and a minor stomach disorder leaves them lying on the bed whimpering and dramatising like a continental football player!
I think the candles will be dusted off again for this evening!
As for what I am doing in Romania... nothing charitable or worthy I am afraid. I work in the film industry and my current masters have decided (after the release of Cold Mountain) that Romania is the new Hollywood... . So, being a freelancer, and as mortgages and bills have to be paid, food put on the table and clothes put on my back, I periodically have to pack my spotted handkerchief and run away to join the circus that is film making, leaving behind my family and loved ones for periods of time that sometimes make me . Got here in Jan and probably won't be back in dear Blighty until end July . I wish I could proudly announce that I am saving the world or something equally altruistic, but I merely inhabit "lovey-land"
As you can imagine, meeting people like you, BDG, Corrie, Ruth et al is like a breath of sanity in my otherwise insane and artificial world.
Oh dear, I'm rambling again, so I shall shut up!
Hope to meet you again soon. Thanks again for your kind thoughts. Lots of
Essjay

OhEssjay, what an exciting life you have. You would be bored stiff with me if you met me in "real life". "Luvvies" may be a bit artificial but mostly they are a lot of fun to be with. They wouldn't be in the business if they were boring housewives, would they?
I think you have a special way with words and when you pack it all in you could write books, I'm sure.
I hope Tom is fully recovered. My husband was a very difficult patient, not because he was demanding but he just wanted to be left alone. Was angry if I asked if he wanted anything, he just wanted to wallow in his misery. I always knew when he was getting better because then he would ask for thin bread and butter and a cup of Bovril !!!
Poor darling died very suddenly of a masive heart attack, was lying in the garden for about 45 minutes while I was watching Formula 1.
But he always wanted to go that way, only not quite so soon.
So, Essjay, make the most of your love while you can. Spoil each other! We did and I'm glad of that.
I've had two glasses of wine and realise I'm maudling. This is the beauty of these boards, there's nobody shouting: "Give it a rest" or words to that effect and you can't see people's eyes glazing over. Must be therapeutic, don't you think?
Have a super week-end, both of you

Dear
Sorry I didn't reply earlier but boss gave me the weekend off! Tom's slight "rally" was a pathetic attempt at bravery, sadly... so he finally admitted defeat and allowed me to call the Doctor to him. He must be feeling bad! She was a stunning blonde, legs all the way up with eylashes (real) that could create their own mini-cyclone and he didn't even notice!! She's now given him so many pills that he rattles and I have dished out so much TLC that I am exhausted. Nurses have my unbounded admiration! So, back to the funny farm for another week of unalloyed merriment and chaos!! Tom leaves Wednesday and I hope that he will be able to make it unassisted on to the aircraft!
Thanks for your sage advice - I shall take it. As someone once said "Carpe Diem"?
If you are as half as lively and as fun as your postings, boring is not a word that applies to you!
Hope to catch you later! Keep smiling and lots of
Essjay
