I am glad wreslting is expressed in the Guide, but the entry is far too short giving no idea about the traditions or history of the form. How would one go about getting to rewrite it

In the words of the great, overly-priced sneakers: Just do it. 
Re-write the article as you would like to see it, then submit it to the peer review with comments, particularly why you felt the need.
