That's a shame.
It seems to be happening to a lot of people now. Another of my mates got turned down the other day too.
Maybe it's a June thing...

It's because she doesn't want to risk our friendship, she says.

*nods*
I approve of that actually, after all what is permanant and good except for the feeling around friends, turning down a guy because you like them and cared enough not to risk it is a sign of consideration, John. smiley - smileysmiley - smileysmiley - smiley

Yes, but if you never go out with somebody you're friends with, are you ever going to be able to pick somebody good to go out with? If you begin with not knowing someone every time?

Sometimes a friendship can turn into something really good on another level. In fact that's how most of my friends' parents' relationships began - including my parents.

And if you never take a risk like that, you can't exactly be said to be living very much...

I can see the logic but I disagree with it.

I think that friends like that are pathetic. Those that "don't want to ruin our friendship" </>
They are so damnb annoying.
I go with John on the whole good friends can become something better thing. I agree that at least you know the person before you get involved. Also, when you go out with someone that you don't know, they dress up for you and look and act their best, so you don't really KNOW them for who they REALLY are.
Whereas friends you see at their best, at their worst, in their gardening clothes, when they've come out the shower smiley - winkeye, etc, so you know all sides of them. And then you know what they're like when they're happy, sad, crying, b!tchy, etc. And you know what makes them laugh, cry, get horny...smiley - smiley
