Can't help. Try taking out the Brunel bit altogether. See what happens.

Okay. Many moons on, the link you have is Brunel. You have used href instead of h2g2. This causes the link to be read as a normal url, and so it points to the right address, forcing the default skin (Brunel). It is, however, messy. It also causes the link to appear under 'Related BBC pages' to the side of your PS, which is not really where you want it.

Try this: <link h2g2="U1132412&skin=Brunel">Brunel.

After all, http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/U1132412&skin=classic works, so that might.

Many more moons on, I was wrong there. The href=http full url style of linking doesn't force the default skin except for visitors who aren't logged in as registered researchers. If the skin isn't mentioned in the url, you see the site in whatever skin is set in your preferences.

The notion of a 'default skin' applies only to visitors to the site. Brunel is also the default for new researchers, until they change it in their preferences.

I'm still in brunel. I like it.

This means that the second method for skin changing is not only neater, but necessary.

U1132412?skin=Brunel
U1132412?skin=Classic
U1132412?skin=Alabaster
U1132412?skin=Plain
