I'm at a hen party!

Ish.
Someone we know is getting married. She was going to have a hen party at her sister's house, but it's rather small so we hosted it instead. Sort of.
We didn't actually host the party as such, we just provided the venue. And my laptop provided the music. I sat upstairs on the computer browsing the 'net and telling iTunes to skip certain songs when they yelled up and complained from downstairs. (It's handy having sound cables running through the house. The satellite decoder in the kitchen can give us Radio 4 or BBC 7 in almost every room of the house, or we can change a couple of plugs and broadcast from Daddy's computer or mine.) Mammy mingled with the crowd part of the time, and sat in the office on Daddy's computer writing her college assignments the rest of the time. (He's away in England visiting his Dad.) My sister was part of the party. And my brother's in Canada. So I was the only male in the area.
This being a Witness party, there was a good mix of ages. One of the things I like about the Witnesses.
I also wrote the first list of book/film/person/song names for charades. After complaints of obscurity, Jenny wrote the second list.
So I was upstairs finding statistics about Denmark for Mammy's assignment compairing services for the Deaf communities of Ireland and one other country, and eating party food (which Mammy got for me, because I thought it wise to avoid the kitchen), and generally being sort of part of the party.
I thought there might be dancing upstairs, so I tidied my bedroom, pulled the curtains over my bed, and dismantled the wall, opening up a large area at the top of the stairs. Then my sister put her beanbag and stuff out for people to sit on. Never used. Annoying, because I now have to put it back.
It was fun. I joined in a little more as it wound down and people stood around chatting and telling each other they were going home before settling down for another chat and a little more cake.
