I have a minor problem
I subscribed to a conversation by clicking on a button in an entry. then I posted to the conversation.
then I noticed that the conversation was not included either on "my conversations" or on my user space.
Have you any advice, please?
I have tried unsubscribing from the conversation and subscribing again, but it is still invisible and I can only get to it by going to Eagle eye's PS and then to challenge 3 to find the thread again.

Eagle Eye = U1250038
Challenge #3 = A3588212
The link is at the bottom (called click here):
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/FSB20061133?thread=578524&skip=0&show=20&cmd=subscribethread&page=normal&desc=Return+to+the+Eagle+Eye+Challenge&return=A3588212
The fault is that the page number has been incorrectly specified in the URL - as 20061133 instead of 2006113
This is recognised as wrong by the database software but that then merely sets up values such that the entry can't be seen or removed! The same problem occurred some time back with someone using just T-numbers and no page number (because a value of 0 was being assumed in a couple of places). On that occasion Jim had to fix the database by hand and suggest people not click links like that again.
This sort of error isn't really something it's possible to legislate against though. People are always going to have accidents. Obviously the new changes to thread/forum views haven't fixed it. The system either needs to reject the value outright if it doesn't match or take better steps to find the right value - possibly by paying no attention to the specified page number at all and just looking up the thread number. That would have stopped the other version of the problem too.

Hi SEF - long time no speak.
This is my fault, and I am appropriately one of the victims. I have removed the dodgy link, but I am now unable to subscribe/unsubscribe properly as is Puzzler. I don't know who else is involved - maybe the italic can tell.
I promise not to attempt anything like this again if someone can sort this out.
