I dunno if this is a change or I just never noticed before. It seems if someone presses Reply in the middle of a forum thread, the reply ends up appearing right there, even if there are 20 other posts below it. To me it makes it rather difficult to catch the new posts; I'd rather just read down the whole thing in chronological order, even if someone did change the heading at some point, replied to a post that was farther up in the list, etc. I could be in the minority with that opinion, I suppose. I've seen only one or two other comments about it.

It's always sorted posts in conversation order (in the same order as the threaded listing on the left hand side). We're working on different views on the forums, and obviously, the first variant would be showing posts in chronological order.

Oh, silly me. I guess I just never had noticed before. Or never ran across a thread that was like that. Or something. I look forward to the new views.

I have another question, figured I'd just put it in here:
In some forums, after I post, the thread will refresh and I'll see my new post right then. In others, it won't. In extreme cases, I can't even get the thread to refresh with the "super-refresh" option in the browser. (But after exiting the browser and reopening it views fine. Perhaps deleting the cache would also work, haven't tried that.) It's not a problem I run into anywhere else that I know of, only here. Is it something I'm not doing, or is there a problem on your end?

It's difficult to say where the problem lies. You might be like me, and have your net connection suddenly decide not to route packets any more (and I'm not sure if it's the OS or my ISP that's at fault). Or you might just be seeing server lag, when lots of simultaneous requests are being serviced.
Key: Complain about this post
