I don't know if someone has already beaten me to this idea but would it be possible to have 3 lists of user pages on your home page: Most recent but not submmitted, Most recent submitted and accepted guide entries. It's just once articles drop off the most recent 5 list you can no longer see if they are submitted unless you try and edit them and check out the blurb about you guys being at lunch.
