Hi Jim.

I try not to bother you with trivial stuff, but I usually do anyway, so hopefully this won't be trivial.

Tonight I clicked on your handy "see who is on right now" thing, and one of the lines showed a grining face instead of a user name. Clicking on the face led me to user #50431, which also crashed my browser. This happens every time I try to access that page.

Could be mostly harmless, but could be someone messing with your system. Just thought I'd let you know....

Ok, if I would have looked before posting, I would have noticed that a name is attached to the face: the enigmaniacs. This isn't a trick from the powers that be, is it?

Can't do much about his page - his links are all to local images so they're broken - but the image in the username is now impossible.

Hey Jim, you might want to filter HTML from links. Take a look at
http://www.h2g2.com/P99885 for example. Do you want to allow _any_ HTML in the right margin?

It's less of an issue on user pages. There, it's the user's problem if their page looks stupid or messes up on different browsers. The thing about usernames is that they appear everywhere and will mess up much more than just a single page.

I didn't even realize the picture went along with the username. I'm trying to imagine how long a forum conversation would take to load if every name had a picture attached, but the thought makes my head hurt.

Although I agree that usernames should not have pictures on them, in a way it is too bad you can't allow it. It deprives me of another chance to sign people up for a protest.
