Hello Liquid Warrior,
I was lucky enough to get the choice of having Open University degree BA or BSc because of multi-disciplinary course I chose BSc mainly because musicology and psychology are my "ologies" !

A pleasure, as always, to hear from other Hootoo people and from OU people as well. Welcome.
I am still in contact with several of my old OU peers and we send cards and letters and e-mails, so it has also broadened my social circle.
The OU, I always felt, was not just for studying, but for the soical side as well. I ask you, where else can you get punk rockers, opticians, doctors and carpenters in the same room with one interest in mind. Social levels vanish.
Also an employer once told me they respect OU awards more as they are harder to get, as the students have to also deal with full time jobs and a full home and family life. Also they are done alone and without being surrounded by other students with whom they can discuss subjects. Mostly in Isolation.

So far I haven't noticed that my Open University degree makes any difference whatsoever. I wanted to do Primary Teaching, but can't do the year's teacher training due to the fact that I have not been able to obtain my GCE Maths qualification.

Well, I'm not sure if it's helped me obtain jobs, but it has helped me with the ability to communicate better, and to create better stories.

That is true. The OU also taught me where to go and look if I was wanting to research about a subject.

I remember at my very first tutorial we were reminded we should NEVER make assumptions. smiley - smiley

No. I could paper my walls with rejection slips. I like the Snoopy cartoon which showed him reading a letter, which said;
Please find enclosed two rejection slips, one for this story and one for the next.smiley - rofl

I'm too shy to go on stage. I've decided not to tell anyone what this is called until I've finished writing out the score. smiley - smiley

Not in the least. Everytime I go to add people onto my friend's list I get kicked out so I don't bother any more
Happy new year to yousmiley - bubbly
Please forgive me don't mean to sound rude, but never discuss anything I'm writing until it has been sold.
If you mean the two already TX'd then that's OK.
One was about a boy who'd been dumped into a home on Christmas eve. In the home he'd been bullied, his pet kitten was murdered. All this takes place before the play begins. Then one year later, he goes to a Santa in a store, looking for something that must exist. If it doesn't he's going to kill Santa, he has a flick knife. The old Santa is an out of work drunken actor who is also disillusioned. The boy has locked doors and they are the only two in the store.
The second was about a student who goes back to visit his parents so he can get a birth certificate. He finds out that they were not married, but really brother & sister.

smiley - biggrin I'm not surprised your smiley - santa story was rejected! smiley - monster I don't imagine that would have gone down well with the children. Lack of smiley - gift these days would be serious disaster area amongst materialistic youngsters.

Must go and write my thank-you letters. smiley - run
