Graymouse
"Les petites souris grises" - A derogatory French phrase, in English "the little gray mice", commonly used in reference to German female communications auxiliaries serving in France during the Occupation of WW2. Specifically, the stone or "mouse" gray of their uniforms, in contrast to the green (feldgrau) uniforms of the Army and Waffen-SS.
Yes, I am a WW2 buff- a reenactor actually. "Graymouse" or "Blitzmadel" are common nicknames of my primary impression, a German Signals Auxiliary of the Army (Nachrichtenhelferin des Heeres). Please do not take offense, this is a purely historical representation and in no way reflects my personal political views! All reenacting organizations in the US have very strict regulations against political affiliation. I am a historian researching a little-known aspect of Germany in WW2- the use of women by the military.
As for the rest, I am 30 years old, married with a young daughter.
