Although it sounded familiar, I had to look up "Fife" to be sure:

"A region of eastern Scotland between the Firths of Forth and Tay. It was once a Pict kingdom." So Fife is near the Firth of Forth?

Yes, I live about 20 miles from the center of Houston, but its really city all the way, a big "metro area". Probably a tad warmer here than Scotland ...

I recall talking to a man who mentioned he was from Scotland, so I, trying to sound knowledgeable, said, "Ah, the other side of Hadrian's wall?" To which he replied, "Right, the side that was winning!" A great response, IMHO.
