Hello, Cybercat, thanks for stopping by. Where is Luton? I've only been to the London area, so I'm not too familiar with the rest of the country.

Houston is usually a surprise to first time visitors who are familiar with the "wild west" image of Texas. The climate is subtropical - hot, humid and lots of trees. A lady in an airport once asked me, after I had mentioned sailing, "Where can you sail in Texas?" I said, "Well, the Gulf of Mexico, Galveston Bay, ..." She said, "Oh, right."
I would suspect your area is somewhat cooler, especially in the winter.
