I thinks it's good to be sceptical, the only problem is when the sceptics and the ardent believers go head to head, both trying to prove that they are right as opposed to just trying to find out the truth. That gets on my wig!

I always take things with a pinch of salt first, you have to. Figures show that 60% of Californians have had an experience which could be explained by 'Alien Abduction'! Maybe it's all the sun.

I don't think that an alien species so inteligent that they can cross the vast intergalactic gulf, are gonna stop off to abduct and prod more than half of an American state.

Are they out there? Who knows. But if they are, then it's more likely that they're just watching us, not picking up all and sundry. After all, if they just watch our films, they're gonna see that they aren't too popular (Independance Day, War Of The Worlds, The Faculty, The Day The Earth Stood Still, The Thing, It Came From Outer Space, Etc)

As for the more supernatural, the problem here is that a lot of it has built around myth and legend. And as Billy Conolly puts it "legend is just rumour plus time". This means that records and sources can be unreliable. Especially in the field of divination.

I mean, physicists are asking us to believe that there is such a thing as a black hole, in which the gravity is so strong that even light cannot escape. In this annomoly, there is (in theory) a core roughly 1km in diameter that has so much stuff packed into it that it has infinite density. Wierder than that are things like electrons, that act like a wave AND a particle. And also if the rules of quantum physics are to be believed, then if you push against a wall for an infinite amount of time, then there is a possiblity that you will be able to walk straight through it.

Well they do say that fact is stranger than fiction!

I try to look at it from both points of view, and try not to get so mixed up in it that I become biased. I believe there may be something to things like tarot, and I believe that there is actually a scientific reason for ghosts. I have an inkling about tarot, i-ching, runes and the like, but it is very rough and nigh on impossible to prove.

Think I need a after that. Shame I'm at work!

Alien Abduction? oh come on you think if an Alien visited us hes going to want to talk to a californian? all plastic and no brain..id credit any sensible Alien with more intelligence than that..i mean he might find out where the nearest poodle parlour is or hair/nail salon, or some Frankenstien Doctor but what else? the lights are on but nobodies home LOL watching our tv/films? yeah can picture it now.....popcorn, lights dim and on 1 screen you got 'war of the worlds' and the other you got 'independance day', top screens showing 'Doctor Who', they'll be themselves laughing at our arrogance and naievity!
