Pretty much so. I like it here an awful lot (I've yet to meet people I hate, which is always a good thing), and my classes seem okay so far. This past week has been fun... but this weekend has been so boring so far. My roomie and my suitemates all went home, as did every other friend I've made in the past 9 days.
Hehehe... and I'm not only in the Honors Academy but in Pokie as well... I probably would have switched schools if I hadn't done that. How did move in go for you?

Not bad, but a debate still rages over the optimum arrangement of furniture. My roommate and I have agreed that nothing we've tried yet has worked really well so far. Perhaps the next arrangement will be the lucky winner.
Pokie? Is that like the Hokie Pokie?

Well, I hope you guys find a good arrangement. Try lofts if you're allowed... my roomie brought a loft so we've got a good bit extra space.
about the Hokie Pokie... Pocahontas, silly... Honors dorm... no AC ()... decent neighbors.

Ah, Pocahantas. I wonder is there also a Sacagawea dorm?
Wish I could say the same about my neighbors...

I don't think so...
Sorry about your neighbors... Unfortunately, most of mine left for the weekend and went home... so I'm all bored to tears here. Luckily they're coming back this evening...

Aha, the perfect room arrangement!
Hope you found something to do. I've been busy with my Christian Campus group. Loads of fun. Do they have anything like that at Radford?

I think we have something similar to that here... but I missed Club Fair on Friday, so I don't know for sure. I guess I could search and discover, though.

Any interesting classes this semester, or just the "usual"?

Mostly the usual... gen ed requirements. I've got honors Music Appreciation, though... it's kind of interesting, but I had a very very similar class in 8th grade so this is all old hat for me. I also made both Concert Band and Woodwind Ensemble.. You should be proud of me.

Oh yes, of course I am.
Oh, err...
What instrument do you play again? Woodwinds hmmm...
Pan Flute? Ocarina? Harmonica? Oboe? Recorder? Kazoo?
I just hope its not something boring like the flute or the clarinet.

Researcher 55674 Posted Aug 28, 2001
Well, I suppose not. But just think how much more exciting playing the bagpipes would be. Ooh, bagpipes are woodwinds too.

Haha, funny story about bagpipes... read my journal entry about it...

Researcher 55674 Posted Aug 28, 2001
Heh, not exactly the kind of music suited for studying philosophy. Bagpipes do however lend a certain coolness to "Amazing Grace".

They do if the player has any semblence of an ear. *shudder*

Researcher 55674 Posted Aug 28, 2001
You sound as one who has "experienced" such a performance.
I haven't heard many good bagpipe players, but then again I haven't heard many bagpipe players of any sort. Perhaps if I ever go to Europe I'll look some up.
