Howdo.
Thought I'd drop a line as not spoken in a while.
Crap dayshift last week and over the weekend, restweek now, but not going online much. Trying to sort cak out in the house, paperwork everywhere. Also want to get into the Linux box this week.
Not had much of a chance to download A3 songs yet, tho had a good look around the box
Also got access to test box at weekend, running AIX, so getting a manual for that next. Can't access from home as don't have authority to go thru firewall. Should have some fun next week tho. It's finally starting to come together, pity about the rest of me
Will email sometime this week.

Helo mate,
Last week wasn't too bad. So far this week I can't really concentrate on what I'm doing. Guess my mind is elsewhere wondering if I'll get offered this job I went for. The feedback I've got is good but I just feel unsure about it all.
I had to tidy up when my mates came over at the weekend, though it was commented that the room still wasn't that tidy (I agree but there is only so much you can do with a bedsit).
All I can suggest is to kep plugging away and eventually it'll happen.

I can understand why you can't concentrate, but are you unsure as in 'Ain't getting it' or usure as 'Do I want it?'
Just had a weird phonecall from my mate in Midrange Support at work.
He asked me to send my CV in yet again. Jees you'd think he'd keep a copy on file, the way he keeps asking for it.
Anyway, looks like he's put my name forward for another job in his dept. again. *sigh* perhaps this time something will happen. Then I can get my life in perspective and decide if I'm going to change mortgage lenders and so forth.

Oh, and I went back to the gym last night, after an absense of nearly 7 weeks. Decided I need to do something constructive, even if it's only my body.
Oh well, back to the paperwork. Will check back in later.

Phil Posted Apr 10, 2001
I'm currently unsure both ways.
Might well be a time to re-jig a few bits of the CV before handing it over again. At least I don't (currently) have to worry about mortgages and stuff like that. I was asked if I'd consider moving if the job needs it (from my freind as part of the feedback I got).
I hope to get a half mile in down the pool tomorrow. I didn't last week as I just couldn't be bothered.

Babel17 Posted Apr 11, 2001
naturally you said "yes" to relocating if needs be.
You appear to be on a shade earlier than normal today.
Did you get the 1/2 mile? or is that this evening?
Back to gym tonight myself. Arms are a touch stiff due to not having been for so long, but what the heck.
Only on just now to check mail etc,
Speak to you later.

Phil Posted Apr 11, 2001
I tsort of said yes to the relocation question. I'd prefer to stay in London as I've now got settled here and don't want to up sticks for another year or so yet but a jobs a job and I don't think I'd say no if offered the chance.
I normally check in when I get to work and that depends on what time I get up etc.
Swimming will be tonight. Last night I spent some time doing paperwork for dive courses.

Hope all is well, just dropping in to wish you a good Easter weekend. I'm off up to Aberdeen in an hour or so, just checking mail and leaving calling cards
Speak to you next week, and I'll send mail then, ok?
Have fun!

So how was the trip up north for you?
My trip seeing the folks ended up being changed on the friday morning as I'd forgotten to get my neice a birthday present and card. A quick trip round Brent Cross shopping centre before heading up to my sisters was needed. From there it was over to the parents on saturday and I just stayed there till coming back to London on the monday - feeling fine it might well be added.
Tuesday was another matter altogether and what happend since has been mentioned elsewhere
Did you put your CV to your mate in midrange wasn't it?

Aberdeen was very drunk. Not one single castle visited, unfortunately.
perhaps next time. Yes, CV was emailed as requested, but typically since being on rest weeek last week and nightshift this week I haven't heard anything. Probably nothing will come of it again. I get so worked up that this time it might work out, but I then get so fed up when it doesn't and my pal keeps saying, just hang in there. But how long can I go on? Still, not your problem.
I need to ask you something, but I think I'll email you if that's alright. Unless you might be free tomorrow evening (Saturday, though unlikely as you'll probably be out )
I'll be in the house and probably online between 6pm and 10pm.
How about you drop me a line to say if you are free initially, and if you are then give me your MSNIM addy, and or contact no.
If I don't hear from you, i'll be in touch next week.

I know it's hard when you're trying to get out of a job you don't like, I went to six or seven interviews and was turned down for them all. I even had to get back to the agency myself to be told that, as all of the companies didn't bother telling me (bit rude I thought). Those were mostly in jan and feb. After all that I was getting down about it and decided not to bother for a bit then a friend asked if I was still looking out of the blue and had my CV put forward for this one in the city. It will come together, just when you least expect it. I was settling down to get on with my job, just when it started being more interesting when that happened.
At the moment I'm free this eve (sat) so I'll probably get online at some point between those times. I'm [email protected] on MSNIM and phil55494 on AOLIM. Plans may of course change, I mean I didn't plan on ending up in hospital right If I'm not around, do email and I'll get back as quick as poss.
Right, I guess I'd better get myself some breakfast and then it's the moment I've been deading all week - phoning the parents and teling them what's happened.

Busy, busy, hence no contact so far, sorry. Hope it went ok yesterday.
As you'll have read in the other forum, I have to go to Reading on Monday. I am very nervous. But hopefully once i am actually there, I can get a grip on myself and do what needs to be done, otherwise, as my manager said to me today, "Hopefully it should be fine and you will be able to report that it won't be a problem, but if it looks like it is going to be the same disaster as [name removed by me for various reasons] then don't bother coming back!"

Phil Posted Apr 26, 2001
Well I'm sure that you can do it. If you couldn't do it, you wouldn't have been chosen to go. I'm sure it'll be fine, even if you have to report to your boss that it's going to be a pig of a thing to integrate with your systems there.
Not much else to report here. If I've not been called about the next interview later today I think I'll call them. I did get a message from the guy who put my CV forward reminding me to drop his name when talking to HR so he gets his referal bous

I may have an interview next week for that job again. But I am not going to think about it until this Reading stuff is out the way, at least it will be something else to add if I do get called.
Yes, I'll catch you later.

When, not if. I know how hard it is to be positive at times, but that's what you've got to think.

OK, so here I am at 2.36 in the Saturday am, appealing to your better nature and wondering if you would seriouusly want to take your mind off things and come and meet a pal in Reading on Monday evening after you finish work, for a bite to eat and a drink, or just a drink. Might take your mind off things fort a short while. I would seriously appreciate the company if you can spare the time. I am emaling you as I write
I'll check this before I leave, time permitting.
Hope to hear from you soon.

So another week goes by.
Any news yet as to the interview on Tuesday, or will you have to wait until Tuesday coming, now, due to BH weekend?
yesterday was not nice, but then, I am alive and well, and no harm was done other than scaring quite a few roadusers, I would imagine. That makes me feel worse than what happened. That I in my stupidity could potentially cause such chaos and mayhem. *shudder*
No interview for me this week. My mate up in Tech. Support, was off since his dad passed away last week, and he only came back yesterday. Naturally I was in no state to be interviewed (personal view) and he was probably not on best form yet, and naturally had much work to catch up on. Perhaps he will contact me at home this coming week. We shall see. Enjoy the weekend, if I don't hear from you until later.

Good to hear that you're OK, if a little shook up (who wouldn't be).
I should hear on tuesday about the job. I had a call on friday afternoon from them appologising for the delay. Hope it goes well for you in the job front.
The rest of the weekend will be taken up going seeing my mate over in Kent and going to some festival or other in Rochester (I'll have to tell Coely about that!) tomorrow. Then back on monday to sort myself out for another week on monday.
