Hi Kunoichi

I came across a piece of your work through the search facility, clicked on your page out of curiosity, and saw that you've written absolutely masses of stuff...

The thing is, not that many people will see while it's just sat on your home page - if you're interested in it being seen and/or commented on by a few more people, the way to go would be to submit it to Peer Review (for factual entries, like your one on tea), or to the Alternative Writing Workshop (for creative writing, opinion pieces).

It's definitely good enough - obviously it depends what you want out of the site.

Anyway - always good to see another writer on Hootoo - all power to your pen...

I looked at the various things that you need to do before putting it on Peer Review, and I am just scared to. It looks like so much work, even though I don't think I've got too much 'wrong'... ^^;

But you think it's okay to put up, as is?

I would say that 90% of your work is ready to go into Peer Review as is. Not only is it well written, it is nearly in the required style and format.

My experience with Peer Review is that it quite often improves my work - sometimes not many people comment though, it's difficult to say what interests or doesn't the people who are involved. It doesn't normally take too much time, and I've had some good discussions on occasions. If you find it irritating, you can always take it out again...

The only possible caveats are:

The Edited Guide entries have a shared copyright regime. If you're planning on selling any of your work commercially, then don't put it forward for the EG.

Links in foreign languages are out, as the staff can't check whether they are rude or not...

Where you use "I" you would have to put that sentence in blockquotes or reword it.

A few of your entries are already covered in the EG - The Goodies for example.

On the other hand, we don't have a tea ceremony entry, nothing on Taikomochi, nothing on Chris Barrie and I imagine (I didn't check those) not that much on ancient Egypt. Don't put all your articles on Egypt in in one go, by the way - it floods the system. Either put a few in at the time, or drop a message for Jimster (on the staff) as to how to handle that kind of volume. We had 12 Yorkshire Castles in at one point, everything else was submerged beneath them!smiley - yikes

The other thing I wanted to say is that there is an Anime and Manga discussion site on H2G2 somewhere.

Good luck if you decide to go for it - smiley - cheers

Hey,

I've submitted my tea ceremony article, so here goes... let's see what people think! And thank you. ^_^

I may not put up the Egyptian ones, then, because maybe one day I will want to get them published in a book, when I get enough written. So I'd best keep them away from Peer Review, then.

Thank you!

Caroline...
