Hi there
I have read your new submission date somewhere, but I cannot remember where. So could you let me know please?

I think it was midday this Sunday coming (GMT). Though in the case of a regular contributor we would hope to be a little flexible, particularly if we were given advance warning it might be late.

Hi, i am half way through and would not have time to do anymore till Monday. I do code my stuff now, if that helps. I could have it done by 5pm Monday hopefully before, is that okay or too late?

To be honest with you we've had so little material submitted that it's looking questionable whether there'll actually be a post this week or not. We've got plenty of fiction but very little else. Reefy and I will see how it looks and prolly issue an announcement today or tomorrow.

That is bad news.
I'll write it anyway for tomorrow then and hopefully you'll have some stuff and it will go out anyway. Maybe people are used to the Monday deadline and forgot it had been changed to Sunday?

Well, it's looking like we'll just put out what we've got - if people actually see the Post is withering away, they'll either be motivated into contribtuing to it or they won't just blame me and Reefy when it finally goes kaput.
But the sooner the better, please...

I'm not really here Posted Jul 4, 2005
If it's looking a little sparse have you thought about adding some old articles to it? 'Something from the Archives'. There will be lots of people who read the Post who haven't been around as long as it has, but hasn't had time to read all the back issues.
I haven't got any inspiration for something for at the moment. I keep thinking I'll write something, but I'm a bit stumped for ideas...

Right thats mine sent in.
I was wondering whether I could help a bit, in finding articles and to help inspire people to write some non-fiction for the post?
I have found someone to review Glastonbury and am working on some other things. Would that be okay, I think so many have a story inside them, but are shy and need a bit of encouragement. I would love to do that, if you okay it?

That'd be great Kaz, you're a bit late for this week's edition though.
I'm sort of reluctant to recycle old articles as to the casual observer it might give the impression the Post is in better shape than is actually the case. At the moment it's all looking a bit dicey long-term so hopefully a few thin issues will motivate people to pitch in.
that's the hope anyway...

Don't worry Awix, I know its too late for this week, but I fancied trying to find peoples areas of expertise and motivating them to write stuff for you guys. I have some good ideas already, just need to convince them. I wanted to get the official nod from you so that people didn't think I was just having a laugh.

I've already got this weeks Science Matters done and dusted, Is it still too late to go in?

I never thought Awix was suggesting it was too late for my science column to go in. I did say it would be Monday before 5pm, and it was.
If it is not used then do not save it for the next post, it will be far too late by then, I will use it myself and write another for the next post. It used to be a weekly thing with current news, so I want this one to be current, whether thats in my space or the post, I am really not bothered.
As for it being too late, that was about me searching out new articles and contributors for the post in general. i cannot do it though when times of submission keep changing.

Soon as you let me know whether my column will be in The Post, I shall either sit back and wait, or post it in my space straight away.

Science matters will be in, Kaz, that was never in doubt. It was just the Glasto stuff etc which was dodgy, it will now appear next issue.

Thats what I thought - phew!
I just got so used to doing it on Mondays, that getting it done for Sunday was a problem, I shall have to rearrange stuff, so I can do it for Sundays in future.
