Well, now you've ruined my fun! yes, indeed, all you have to do is go up to source, and then view, but everyone knows how to do that! Anyways, I was rolling up the suspense a bit... It gets lonely out here... especially when Monsy is gone away with NM

Oh, and by the way... half of that code is useless, I was only a bit too lazy and forgot... erm... meant to leave it there

Yes, that's what I thought... Just imagine if I had enable the "absolutely no clicking" html... that would be hell... should think I'd never get visitors

Particularly if you cleared the browser history array - no back button Nasty! Flocks of newbies trapped on your page.

Damn... are you trying to give me ideas? Really, I heard you're not supposed to encourage people like me...

I like to 'encourage' people to learn to drive their browser.
But¹, the management reserves the right to remove any code on a page that they dont like/find objectionable or stuffs up the site. I think trapping newbies so that they flood staff pages/emails with 'bug reports' would end up in that category.
So I wouldn't recommend it at all.
Though probably 75% would blame it on bugs in IE - that's a very fashionable way to get tech www credibility for a newbie

¹ there's always a but isnt there

I'm not sure how to take anything that you say: half the time I find what you say intriguing, the other half I find you very insulting

"I like to 'encourage' people to learn to drive their browser"?
Sorry, but I found that insulting...
Guess I'm a little too sensitive... obviously that will have to change.

Hmmm, the drive their browser quip was related to the idea of locking a user into your page by disabling history & all mouse clicks - if someone knows how to drive their browser they arent trapped at all.
Therefore, locking users into a page might be said to 'encourage' them to learn to drive their browser. OK - it seemed funny when I posted it.
Sorry for the confusion.

PS the seemingly heavy handed stuff about management removing code etc was not aimed at you or MM but because you cant tell who will read this stuff in the future.
(Try entering 'disable click' into search the guide (& probably 'trap user' now)) & I don't want to have to explain to management in the future when some researcher tells them Bruce, Sporkulious Eglon & MadMunk explained how to do it.
Sorry, end of serious stuff. /*idiot mode resumed */
