I'll say "hi"!

Have you seen the Prisoner quotes on my page? Were you ever in "6 of 1"?

Be seeing you in the pub tomorrow.

Hi theresmiley - bluefish thanks for dropping by.smiley - aliensmile

Didn't there used to be a fish skeleton smiley? I was looking for it earlier, and found all the new smileys.smiley - orangefish

Haven't been in The Prisoner society, but I reckon we should have the h2g2 meet at Port Meirion next year... a whole weekend of festivities!smiley - alesmiley - winkeye Posted some suggestions to Peta and Abi's pages.smiley - winkeye

See you at the pub... you're not going for the whole 'experience' then?smiley - yikes

The fish skeleton is Shim's but he's never here, so I borowed it for my page.

Excellent idea for the meet up! I was in "6 of 1" in the late 70's and went to a few things they organised.

I have to wo*k so I'll miss the daytime fun. smiley - sadface See you in the pub!

I have tried several times to start "Prisoner" conversations here - no luck before. smiley - smiley and smiley - hug I put the quotes on my page after "Rupert" as the seemed somehow appropriate.

I first saw it in the late 1970's. In those days I lived in an area where it was possible to get 3 different local ITV stations, and they showed the episodes on different nights. Even though there was no such thing as VCR, I therefore got to see each episode 3 times. Yay!

I joined 6 of 1 in about 1978, and went on a couple of their meets, walking round the London locations. When I first joined h2g2 I was reminded of it. I still have the newsletters sent out, and other items like photos from the episodes and badges. I'm pretty sure I have a t shirt somewhere.

I went to Port Merion in 1982, but stayed somewhere else. It's quite expensive to actually stay in the Village.

When the episodes where repeated (about 10 years ago) I taped every one, and now my children have seen them too. smiley - smiley

would be great for a pair of lurking eyes smiley!smiley - winkeye

I watched The Prisoner... um... early Eighties I think. It was always so surreal, which I loved cause so many programs were just so 'everyday'.smiley - yawn

The cottages (to sleep 4) are about £680 in the height of summer for a week. But we could go out of season (I think it's still cheaper at this time of year... before school holidays kick in), and we'd only want a weekend. They do larger cottages too... I think they might sleep up to 8. Maybe if we asked them very nicely (in a BBC/good publicity kind of way!) they would let us have a few cottages and 'exceed' the normal capacity, with sleeping bags and stuff. It would be a great place to go with h2g2.

Have you seen about The Prisoner film?smiley - smiley That would be good.smiley - cool

I saw that you can now get the boxed set of The Prisoner.smiley - magic One to go on my wish list.smiley - grovel

Can't quite decide where to go for my hols now... f&m is making life difficult.smiley - sadface It was going to be The Lakes and/or Scotland, but Port Meirion has been tempting too. However, other people want to go 'abroad', so I'm having to think about Italy again. Well maybe not having to... just enjoying it. There's this little place on the East side I want to go to.smiley - biggrin

I really must go and read the Post... haven't got around to that yet. But talking about The Prisoner sounds fun.smiley - smiley

smiley - online2long - yes, that was me over the weekend! But I wasn't the only one. smiley - smiley

I have photos somewhere from my visit to the Village. The beach is wonderful. Planning a meet up sounds a great idea if enough people can afford it. I hope they agree to some kind of discount.
People always said that it looked like an Italian place, so you'll have to look out if you go. Good luck with a choice for your holiday.
The videos have been out for a while, I've seen them in my local library. I also have on tape a documentary Jools Holland did several years ago. He is a big fan. I have mixed feelings about the film. The programmes are so very much "one off", that to try and recapture that might be a big mistake. Think of the Avengers film!

The film is to be a British production, so I think it would be good. I understand they are consulting with Mr McGoohan.smiley - smiley

Library... yes, I never thought of looking for the prisoner there. Must try that.smiley - hug

I do hope we can pull a Port Meirion meet off... I'd love to see The Village, and I can't think of a better bunch of people to visit it with.smiley - biggrin

I'm inspired now! I'm going to unpack my box of Prisoner stuff from 6 of 1, and then make Sunshine (14) and Moonlight (11) watch the episodes with me over the next few weeks. They've seen the first, so that leaves 16 to go. smiley - bigeyes
smiley - moonsmiley - run
There are a number of wav files around that I sometimes use as a background to e mails. (Mind you, I also use the Mission Impossible theme tune!) Good fun!
If the library doesn't have it they can order it for you cheaply, as long as there is a copy in your county.

Sunshine and Moonlight... how lovely.smiley - biggrin Lucky them! Oh yes... on holiday already...

If I can get the whole box set through the library, I may just be prepared to order it.smiley - winkeye It's been far too long since I saw it last, and I still don't understand the ending.smiley - erm But I'm older now, so...

Can't remember any smiley - musicalnote from The Prisoner... was there much? There's probably a 'Prisoner Themes' album around somewhere.smiley - winkeye

My audience loves it! They actually asked when we can watch the next one. With no expectations or preconceived ideas, it's good to hear their interpretation. We might watch the next one today, but yesterday we were in London for National Archaeology Day, so no TV at all.

We were going to a local archaelogoy day event yesterday with a friend, but she was taken ill, so we didn't go in the end. I just felt too despondent.smiley - sadface

I'll look forward to seeing how my audience feels about them too. They are currently into James Bond and Red Dwarf, amongst other things, and keep demanding to be taken to Italy.smiley - bigeyes

I mentioned Port Meirion and the Italianate architecture, and this seemed to go down quite well, so after a few epsisodes of Prisoner, they should be begging to go there instead.smiley - winkeye
