Goldylock

is supposed to be the name for a song or jingle that sticks in your head.
The only way I know of getting rid of it completely is to write your own song, or take the same notes and change the number in a bar.

Changing the last word of a phrase also helps -
eg `I wandered lonely as a sock'
(one of my own compositions :D )

This is how i spend my time... smiley - tongueout..

Another good way of shifting the song is to think of a famous singer who you really like, and mysteriously, a song of theirs pops into your head. For some reason now, I'm thinking of Retrun to Sneder (work that one out!!!) and a minute ago it was Bob Dylan, and a song from the film, `The Wonder Boys'.

The trouble is, I can get obsessed with working out what my favoutie song is, to the detriment of happiness or reason. What could you listen to, non-stop, for the rest of your life, without end? Hmm, tricky one. The nearest I got to that was playing `Ok Computer' twice a day for nearly six consecutive months. (It's quite therapeutic sometimes smiley - tongueout) Are they post-modern anthems? Would I know if they were (NOOO!)

Er, Bridge over Troubled Water's ok - could be good if you were stuck on a desert island. I suppose `Come up and see me' could fall into that category, too, in strange sort of way. `On the Beach' would just get you down, I think.

Good camping songs (and I know this from experience) -`Mr Blue Skies'(ELO), `It's raining again' (Supertramp???)
I bet there are some good washing-up songs, but I can't think of any.

I'm sure Mozart didn't think up tunes exclusively to be hummed in the kitchen, but I could be wrong. He never had the dubious pleasure of being played at a general election either not while alive, anyway.)

This has given me an idea for a guide-book, which I doubt I'll write. At least I had the idea - someone will probably do it now.

I go, in search of good tunes...
