UK Petrol prices

It can't just be me, but I am increasingly aggrieved at paying four times as much as our american cousins for fuel to run my car (which while environmentally unsound I know - there is no other real, reliable, convenient, as cheap because I live 120 miles from where I work and the closest train station to the office is 15 miles away, and there's no bus between the two, besides which it's a forty pound return trip and takes three hours longer, etc etc phew!)

It frightens me that the current UK government taxes car users who HAVE to use a car to earn money to live through petrol, road tax, benefit in kind tax (if you are lucky enough to have a company car) and then tell us to use alterative forms of transport which aren't bloody well available and spends little of that money on improving the alternatives (apart from buying increasing quantities of cones)

Anyway, that's my rant for the day, nothing will happen, I will keep buying because while there are many suppliers, they are all part of one price-controlled moopoly - The UK government (and I voted for them, but then again, I don't suppose it would have mattered which way I'd voted on this one!)

Doesn't half feel good to blow off steam though!

Ian
