Where has the last year gone. I just wish it had been a happier one for you.

Thank you, but I wouldn't change the extra time I've had with my Dad plus he's typed out his war memoires when I was helping him he confessed to me that he still feels guilty that he survived (though badly injured) when so many others died. I told him God had a different plan for him, because he came home and had us, I've got 4 beautiful children and now they have a great-grandson through my older child. I hope I managed to convince him

One tough year in a blessed life - I can't really complain and I won't. I'm a "count your blessings" type of person thankfully

Annie, I am sure you did convince him. Even if you did not it would have given him a warm feeling that you thought so much of him - how could it be otherwise.

I, too have had a 'count your blessings' year. No-one really close to me but enough shocks of one sort and another, to make me take stock and rethink my feelings on a lot of issues.
