WS,Scorpio and i had better be careful whilst prowling around with our cameras, especially if we have our big lenses on.We go to Lulworth and the Purbecks quite a bit and that is all military firing ranges and the like, come to think of it we do resemble a couple of terrorists
On a more serious note, the whole thing is stupid, how will you ever stop tourists snapping away at anything and every thing. If you are up to no good, the google maps zoom in so close, you can see what people are having for lunch,so there is no need for terrorists to skulk about with cameras.

You two, a couple of terrorists Oh, please
I agree with all you say, but common sense does not appear to come in to it. After all, taking photos is what tourists do!!
Mind you, two citizens wandering round in the bush with long lenses has to be suspect and a good way to bump up their 'targets'
It is worth looking at your rights in that situation though, but I can't imagine any whippersnapper getting anything out of you except a thick ear
Take care,

Jimcracker7[magiclink.rip gone altogether. im back.in my home from home. Posted Dec 15, 2009
this morning i had a visit on a local thing, ongoing, from the liason police officer.
-
she saw the screen for my security camera, on the portable, and said that if anyone passing, for any reason, objected to the cam, i would be told to remove the cam to show only my front garden to the fence.
-
as it showed, only two ajoining house across to the right was in veiw, and old lady, and a mate about 2 yrs older than me, and they knew i had their houses in veiw.
-
so i asked is there anything else that could be deemed wrong, she said that if i was to see anything, ie a fight, attack, someone being,ie, say forced into a car,i could show to a plice officer, but it wouldnt be allowed in any kind of evidence.
-
the main reason being, its a basic, colour camera, no time or date stamping, and could be seen as taken any day. jimbob
