Hi Jimi X, I'm your friendly sub-editor dropping by to let you know that I've subbed your entry on 'Training for a 5K Race'. I mostly just changed a few style things. One thing I noticed is your use of numerals, such as in '5-kilometre race'. The style policy regarding numbers is to write out all numbers up to ten, and then display higher numbers in Arabic numerals. In some instances you had numbers lower than ten in numerals, so I fixed that.
I also changed your footnote to make it a bit clearer what you were talking about, and took out a few extraneous exclamation marks. Some of your paragraphs were just single sentences; I took the liberty of integrating those into some of the larger paragraphs for better continuity. It seems as if the majority of entries on h2g2 feature larger paragraphs as opposed to smaller, more journalistic-style paragraphs.
I'm not sure your references to the BBC articles at the end of your entry are very relevant to your entry as a whole. Your entry is about 5K races, but the first entry had to do with jogging in general and the second entry had little to do with anything. I strongly recommend that you remove these references from the entry, but am certainly willing to debate their possible necessity.
On the whole, you have written a very informative entry! I intend to implement your recommendations in case I should ever decide to do a charity run.
I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

The numerals thing is fine. It was a conscious decision on my part, but if you don't like it, that's fine with me...
I think your change of the footnote needs a bit of reworking perhaps something like "Though the 70 Wild Miles Charity Triathlon might be the most extreme charity run we've ever heard of!"
Saying "it might be the most extreme charity run" takes out a lot of the conditionality that I was looking for in that comment.
You integrated two sentences into other paragraphs. I had taken them out for added emphasis, but that's a matter of personal style and it's fine if you like it your way better...
And finally, I always thought that it was the Subs' job to add Related BBC Links and I just threw them in there to help you out. If you don't like those, you're free to find ones that you do.

The numerals and integrating the paragraphs are just things that I always adhere to, in the 'real world' as well as online. I am quite open to any negotiating on the subject, but seeing as you don't seem to mind, let's leave it the way I have it, because I am a control freak and so everything must be done my way.
I did, however, alter the footnote as you suggested. You're right, it sounds better that way. I'm sure that I should have noticed that to begin with.
I searched the BBC, but I didn't really see any related links that were horribly relevant. What I found was primarily large amounts of information about sporting in Berkshire, in addition to a smattering of information about little charity runs and a news story about a dentist who ran a half-marathon. The charity runs are, of course, pretty relevant to your entry, but there are so many of them all over Britain and the rest of the world, and they change so frequently that it would be extremely difficult to keep up an accurate 'Related BBC Links' section on them.
I'm somewhat divided on possibly retaining the 'Jogging Prolongs Life' link. It does bear some relation to your entry, but I still feel that it would belong better in a more general entry about jogging or running. Let me know what you think about this.

Wow...
I thought I had posted to this *days* ago. Sorry about that!
I'm fine with it. Like I said, I pulled in some Related BBC stuff from left field. If you find something you like better, feel free to change it.
I don't think I've ever followed a Related BBC link so I don't get too worked up over them.
