Your Revolutionary War opus is brilliant. The more I read, the more impressed I am by its sheer scale - the war and the corresponding length of your project... which puts my feeble effort (which I hope won't follow next week ) to shame. It's also interesting that so much of it was fought in the North East. A popular misconception (perhaps just my own) is that most of the action took place in the South, with the Union troops simply marching off and wippin' them rebs.

I think I'm going to print this one and bind it.

Actually, this wasn't so tough to write for me. I've been dragged to many of these battlefields as a young lad by my father (a frustrated history teacher who ended up joining the police - it's a long story ). I guess growing up in this environment makes you appreciate the history all around you a bit more.

Now I've got to get back to my uni project on the 'History of Golf in Hershey' that I promised Chris that I'd have done by the end of summer.

I might have been thinking of the Civil War battlefields we've driven by on our recent trips south - yea, that's it - which gave my brain all the opportunity it needed to make a chump of me again.

I've got to get on with my project, too... a daunting prospect now that the bar has been raised so high.
