*hangs head in shame*
Would you believe I've never eaten one of them?
In Pennsylvania, there's a baked snack company called 'Tastycakes' whose products are far superior to Twinkies.
One of the things I've always heard about Twinkies was that they had an extremely long shelf-life. I seem to recall something about them being able to survive a nuclear war?
Otherwise, this looked pretty good.
You might want to change the one sentence about Uncle Sam, et al. There is an existing Edited Entry on Uncle Sam somewhere and the national bird is the Bald Eagle (not bald-headed).
Good one guys. Any reason you've both become obsessed with American junk food?

The fascination with American junk food starts when we see all these US TV programmes talking about twinkies, ding dongs etc and we have absolutely no idea what they are. THe closest we have is a very twee thing called a tea cake - which is a soggy old biscuit with a mound of marshmallow covered in chocolate.
Anyway, our intern from last year, Dave, had his parents ship out a box of junk food and the letter that came in it is the entry. The entry on the Twinkie is thanks to Ted, an h2g2 person who decided to initiate us in to the world of the Twinkie. Our stomachs are only just recovering.

So to get more entries about the USA into the guide, we should fly you guys over for a week?
American junk food is one of our great contributions to world culture.
I don't eat most of that junk. And neither do my kids. I'm a bad one for this sort of stuff. (I'm not a health freak, I just pass on seriously processed, bright yellow foodstuffs.)

Same here - I'm not that great a fan of Junk food/frozen food or anything that I haven't lovingly peeled or chopped myself.
As to more entries on the the USA - I'll hopefully (hopefully) be off to spend a couple of weeks in Texas rafting on the Rio Grande, Ranching and then a trip to the Spanish Missions on horseback.
It'll be good to see the countryside again (advised not to here because of the crisis)
Key: Complain about this post
