Hey there, new'ish person.
I'm fairly new to the Salonista's myself, though I've browsed past a dozen or more times. The thing is, from my work-place, the connections are dogged slow, so I don't get around a lot in the day. And once home, I've a missus who gets a bit uppity if I focus too long at the on-line stuff. So please, don't take it as a slight if I don't get back to you in a reasoanble time, eh?
Oh, and if ya want to know any general stuff about me, just click on my name. My Personal Space gives a bit of stuff.

Hi there rev. Point taken. As a newish person, I guess I might be hypersensitive, and I dont understand a lot of the subtle nuances. More airtime required.
I can totally relate to the slow connection and even more so the aggrieved other half *conspiatorial*
Canada eh? One day I'll get to see some 'real' forest, instead of the mostly plantation stuff I work with over here.
Time zones might make getting that virtual of choice (mine's a Bruichladdich) awkward -'hair of the dog' for one of us!
must kids engaged in ment!!

Good, ... that'll learn 'em. Well, until the next time, which can be as little as 10 or so minutes.
How's stuff doing with you today? We've a 'bank holiday' today, following about 40 hours of rains. So as a good end to a week-end, I've a very tidy slab of beef to roast for our supper. And looking for a fool-proof (my favourite kind) method of Yorkshire puddings. I love 'em with the natural beef gravy, and will likely surprise the out of my missus if they work out.

Work I'm afraid, stuck in office. Sun is out though. Must get out of office to walk lab along canal - he feels much neglected.
Yorkshire puddings? Heat pan and oil first. Then add batter. Other way and pudding doesn't rise.

Awwww, poor Lady ... What's your line of work? While in my country's uniform, I serviced and repaired anything electronic, computer, radio or radar related. For nearly 9 years now, I do the same but without the uniform.

Oh, ... and yes, all recipes insist on greased and pre-heated pans or muffin trays before the batter mix.

Bramble is a black lab Whilst he may be named after a soft fruit (wife's idea, she wanted a yellow dog and I wanted a black bitch - we compromised!) -he is very much a boy! He does answer to rumble (and even rambo) which seems more suited somehow!
I'm a forester working for a private company, mostly buying standing timber, mostly from the Forestry Commission (- the state forest service)
Electronics interest me, although I don't do much now - I used to run a pirate SSB outfit working skip into all sorts of places. I guess that this is a kind of repalcement. Are the differences between service and civvy life as you expected? My sister used to be in the Fire service but now is in marine electronics - particularly mini rov's. A hoot to play with! Anyway, she can't believe she kept the uniform so long.

Oh cr@p, I went and got the gender all wrong, didn't I? With pseudonyms, it's soooo easy ...
I guess that I would have found things a lot tougher to shift to, if I had left the military and gone fully to the civvy world. But as I simply stepped in to another building on the Canuck Air Force base, ... The environment remains constant, I know most of the long-time civilians from my last position, ... And it proves that I trained about a quarter of the men and women that I now work under. So it's not really much change.

Ah! I understand now, i thought you were talking about the dog's gender when you meant me! Ah well now, I don't think I've mentioned gender Do I sound female?
Gosh this online thing is fascinating! Some folks never let on. My ace Feisor being one. And I hear on the radio that it's national flirting week. (Who makes these thing up?) a body could get in deep trouble!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure there's enough info in the ether to work it out by now.
Of course, you might not be who you purport to be,-blimey! The possibilities are absolutely endless

To my knowledege, which might prove faulty, Feisor is a true gentleman. I may be wrong. I do know most of the current stable of ACE's, Sub-Editors, Scouts and such. Just been around enough, I guess.
I don't know, but just somehow I got the notion that you were the Mrs of the house. We can step into my back-yard, swill a few and clarify that.
As my PS says, I did come in under a foolish 'guise', ... And in fact, many do portray themselves as other than their real world selves. I simply don't have the imagination to sustain a falsehood. So as my PS describes, and as you find me, that's who and what I am. Just 'zis guy, ya know???

Beer sounds good!
Definitely a bloke, me. And as such unable to do two things at once, of course, hence I think I'll play a straight , (as they say)
How was the beef and Yorkshire pud? I trust the other half was suitably impressed.

It's too soon to tell. We have a clay roasting pan, ... Soaked in cold water, and then what-ever meat and seasonings, into a cold oven. Brought to about 450F, ... it's like a small kiln. The bird or beast roasts in only it's own juices, and in a shorter time. For beef, about an hour and a quarter, ... beginning as of 4 minutes ago.

What time is it with you then? Are you east or west coast. I'm guessing west, am I right? Either way, dinner sounds mouth-wateringly fantastic

I'm on neither coast, and less than midway across our 5,500 mile wide country. Southern Ontario, and the time is about 4:40 pm, ... or 16:40 during my military days ...
Supper ought to be ought and wolfed down around 5:30, or 10:30 UK zone.

In fact, we were done around about 6 pm (11 at night in the UK), and it was all good. Even my first crack at Yorkies ...
