Well you can walk through your life carefully, nervous that each encounter might lead to pain and loss, or say 'hey, so what' and get on with it.... or are you to be the slave of regret, of lost trust?

Regret is a coiled serpent.
It tightens around my memories and hardens my heart.
It feeds upon my past failure and robs me of the capacity to hope.

The serpent cares not for now, only for then.
Then is gone and cannot be changed.
I will focus on the joy I have now.

The serpent cannot hold onto life, only onto the dead.
I am alive and feel the bright Awen in my spirit.
So the serpent cannot hold me.

I will not give in to the serpent.
The pain is real but all wounds will heal, if I let them.
The serpent cannot prevail, unless I let it.

I shall not be the slave of regret.

Hope, love and purpose,

Hi Sir Shifty smiley - biggrin

So you are a living example of sh*t happens huh?

How do you feel your condition colours your perceptions of the world?

My friend, who was also initially my psychology lecturer, personalised her MS by naming it 'Dave' (the name of her rat-b*stard ex-hubby who fled into the arms of a young, blonde student when the diagnosis was confirmed).

She found it helped to have something to scream at when it held her back or laid her low. It could disturb people though when she'd stagger along the High Street (10 pints of Guinness and MS don't improve the ambulatory coordination one bit I can tell you) hurling a string of expletives at 'Dave' as 'he' tried to make her fall over.

Marvellous woman, never gave up. Won many battles but couldn't win the war.

Blessings,

yes it is hard to live with ms , but having a sence of humour helps plus as you say dont lie down to it , its how you handle it that matters ,it not the size of the person but the size of the fight in the person that counts .

How goes it my friend, you have been somewhat quiet of late? I myself have been somewhat preoccupied having torn the ligaments down the right side of my spine just by my diaphram. hey ho, it's all part of life's bitch tapestry.
