I am astounded Peter that people have treated you with hostility, although I should not be. I did belong to an evacuee site where there so many hostile people I could not believe it?
A friend and I (a former teacher of languages) tried to evaluate it but couldn't. We were both asked to leave the site. I because I said someone had a reading comprehension problem and Alice - I forget what she was accused of. It was no loss but my pictures are still on the site although I asked for them to be removed.
It is under British Evacuees I believe
I do admire your persistance and am delighted to hear about your collection of books. I have one also but I have never counted the content of the bookcases. Battles are not necessarily an interesting topic in my realm but historical biographies are. Had I not been a writer I most cetainly would love to have worked in the field of archeology.

Many thanks for your message of support. I must point out, however, that the hostile messages date way back to January 2004. The were mainly posted by an impostor called 'shirleyvincent', a man posing as a woman and using multiple identities. Takes all sorts
