Dear Peter,
Thank you for your comment on my American sailor. I read it while having a very depressive day. I laughed aloud. I do appreciate your sense of humour.
Thanks too for the info on Swansea around D.Day. I hadn't heard of Sausage camps before but perhaps that would explain why we girls didn't know where they were stationed?
I thoroughly enjoyed and was moved by your personal story and possibly you might be interested to know that I joined the GPO in 1948 as a telephonist and subsequently met my husband, who was a Technical Officer in a North West London Exchange. He was stationed in India with the Royal Signals shortly after the war. We married in 1954 but sadly I am a widow now. Still 41 happy years are more than a lot of people are blessed with.
Regards and thanks for the laugh.
Elvira

Hi Elvira
Great to hear from you! I'm pleased I made you laugh, was it the spelling?
Anytime you are feeling depressed drop me a line. That will depress me too, but at least you will be depressed in company which is much more fun
Take care,
Peter
