eclipse
Posted Aug 4, 1999
I am not going to see the total eclipse this year. I'll be working.
the circus set off today - without me - to go to Cornwall, The Lizard festival, where they will put up the tent as a venue, and provide a cabaret.
I am going to have to watch the 95? 98? % ecipse from here in Cardiff.
Ho hum.

I have a house full of travellers at the moment. My flat mate just got back from Belgium; an Englishman who lives in Hawaii has arrived with his american wife; an Aussie friend of my other housemate is here, and a Belgium bloke is arriving tomorrow.
Many of them will be going off with the circus (we are part of NoFit State Circus) to Cornwall, to see the eclipse on the 11th.
Me, I used to travel quite a lot when I was a juggler/fire-eater/clown/acrobat, but nowadays I work in the local library, and have limited holiday time. I guess cyberspace arrived just in time for me, so that I do not feel that (after 30 years of freelance) I have given up too much by staying in one place and getting a job helping to run a great community resource...like the library.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
