Just thought I'd pop over and say hi, since I was thoroughly enjoying your upage. Has been awhile since I met anyone new and interesting, and since you're an assasin, I figured we'd better become friends!
ciao,
Y.S.

Hi! Nice to meet you!
I'm flattered you thought my upage was interesting enough to say hello; but tell me honestly, are there parts of it I should just get rid of? I'm still not happy with it, but I'm not sure which parts are the most boring for anyone who isn't me...
Anyway; before I talk too much and scare you off you'ld better tell me something about yourself; for a start I'm guessing there HAS to be some story behind 'Tweedlebug'... what is it?

There's actually no real story about it other than my parents are terribly strange!
I just got back from teaching drama to 9-17 year olds for a week so I'm a little and ... will write more later!

lol Fair enough!
Reminds me of a mate who's name is Crystal-star - her parents were singlehandedly keeping the hippy movement alive and well!
She didn't mind so much, but her brother Rainbow wasn't so amused...

I guess my parents aren't really hippies... just unique individuals... I really appreciate them for it. My sister's middle name is Prairie Dog, and hates it with a passion.

Hehe!
Do you take after your parents in your individuality? I'm guessing you do - going by the unorthodox name of Yankee-shoes... not that that's so unusual in this place...

I fancy myself an individual... don't know how true that is though. I have a website with my poetry and journal and stuff if you care to see it.
Finally getting around to reading Neil Gaimen's American Gods. Are you a Gaimen fan by any chance?

Absolutely!
I'd love to see your website; I always get jealous of people being lucid. I'm not very good at it I'm afraid.
I had a lecture on the use of metaphor and other creative linguistic features this morning; there were some beautiful passages used as examples.
And yes I am a Gaiman fan, although I haven't had the chance to read most of his stuff yet. My favourite is Good Omens - coauthored with Terry Pratchett. I also had a hardcover copy of Smoke and Mirrors - a collection of his short stories - but unfortunately I loaned it to someone and never saw it again.

Whoops! Unintentional typo there... that was GaimEn, of course.

Ahh, yes... I'm a bit of a Pratchett fan... read Hogfather at the lakeside this week.
My website (such as it is) is

I'm probably going to be gone from internet world from the 4th to the 17th, but if I log on, it will be to update my blog.
Well, I'm going to go hit the showers, going with a friend to see "The Village" today.

Kewl! I like the site! It's been a long time since I've read your style of poetry; it reminds me of a(nother) friend... different subject matter though... I should probably visit him sometime...
Why ? Don't tell me you too have suffered the loss of mister right and are about to compromise on searching for mister right now?
What's 'the village'? I don't think I've heard of it yet. Was it good?
You won't be here for my birthday?! I'll save some for you.

Mmm... Birthday ... Yum! ... Big birthday for you! When is the lucky day?
No, I usually use the as my symbol/sigil irl... has to do with an ancient text, and my usual unrequited love situation... the combo is terribly appropriate. I'm thinking of basing a tattoo around it, with the text in it's original language...
"The Village" is by M.Night Shyamalin, and I enjoyed it, although it's not standard movie fare. The same guy did "Sixth Sense", "Signs" and "Unbreakable".

Not sure about 'lucky', per sey, but it's on the 17th. That'll be the same time as your 16th, since we're GMT+12 here.
What's the original language of the text of the ? If it's in a latanic script, what does it say? (If you don't want to tell me just tell me to sod off instead. )
Was 'the Village' good?
See you when you get back, I guess! Have fun!

Hullo! I'm back from my wanderings... have it blogged at my website, and all that good stuff.
I enjoyed the Village... I don't know that anyone else will, though, .
The script I want on my tattoo is from the book of Joel in the Bible "rend your hearts and not your garments" and the rest of the verse in Hebrew. But now I'm leaning toward a Greek passage in Corinthians about "All things are yours"... it's about how we fear no truth, because if it's true, it's no threat to us...
