Dear Ron
Did you see the BBC2 programme, The Guinea Pig Club, yesterday 13 August 2005, about the airmen of WWII who were burned and whose bodies were reconstructed by McIndoe? If so you may recall that one of the airmen who was portrayed was Jack Toper. I remember him as a member of the West Ham Jewish community whom I saw in the synagogue in the late 1940s when he was still recovering from his burns and treatment. He was then a trainee manager for Marks & Spencer and indeed became a store manager for the rest of his employment, as far as I know. I believe he has been an active member of AJEX.

Dear Harold
I came in late on that particular TV program and so must have missed Jack Toper.
He is, as we both know, an un-mistakeable presence at the AJEX parades.
One of my old C&BG Boy's Club members was also badly burned during the war and bears the scars till this day.
Regards
Ron
