Hi Ron,
Thank you for your e-mail. I have drafted the article for my father, who is still alive and living in Cheshire. I will speak with him and try and find his battery number.
My Dad was called up in 1940 and landed with the 49th/78 Division during Operation Torch. After that he saw service in Sicily, Italy and after VE Day in Greece.
I have also drafted another article for him re; his time with a vehicle ferrying company. Have a peek if you have a moment.
I recommend reading "Battle Axe Division" by Ken Ford. Excellent.
