So, Alleycat, what's changed you from Saucy to Ballistic? Has someone rilly, RILLY annoyed you?
Currently comforting myself with a bottle of Hardy's.

Hello Freddy, i'm really just plain AlleyCat you might not have seen that page yet... I gained the two other names during the time of SSO and they were h2g2 suggestions!.. Saucy will be disappearing after New Year and i'll bring it back next Christmas and Ballistic is going to be my Scottish page, just now i'm using it to test out some Christmas pics.. so i've not gone mad.. not yet anyhow... I meant to ask do you not do the 10 letter anagram.. Artisan really needs somebody better than me to keep him going.. i've been a bit 'thick' this week, poor soul waits 24 hours and i've still not got his word
i'm just about to open a bottle of Sambuca my special tipple albeit i'm not much of a drinker..

Well the 9-letter thread seems to attract more customers anyway, not just Artisan. And (as well you know) you can slip in the odd 10 letter one, as long as you don't abuse the privilege!
I'll see you about the place. Glad to hear you're not mad at someone/thing!
So, I'm guessing you live somewhere in Scotland? I'm down in La-la-Londinium mesell.

Fifer, you say! I'm a big fan of one of your literary residents!
I am aware of this strange pastime (some say sport) known as glof, my parents live in Sandwich; strangely well known for its bread-based snack, and also for its Royal St. George's flog course.

Oh dear, do we have a literary resident! I'm only aware of Alexander Selkirk of Roinson Crusoe fame and Defoe was English if I remember correctly.. thats the extent of my knowledge i'm afraid.. and Jack Vetriano, of course but he's an artist, so you must enlighten me..
I have played golf at an office outing and managed to achieve the wooden spoon, 104 for 9 holes

'Kay, AlleyCat, a coupla tings...
1. It's NEVER written or pronounced GOLF in polite society. FLOG, GLOF, OLFG are all acceptable.
2. Iain Banks lives in your fair town! Find out where, and go and bug him!
3.

3. We are in agreement! but too many to type up

Yeah, I've been dropping in and out of realityville for the last week. I think I'm back now.
The Iain Banks thing...in one of his novels, he commented (extremely obliquely) about this town/region thing, by having an a region called Regioner, whose capital was Capitaller. Yeah, yeah, so much so ordinary, you might think. Could apply to anywhere.
The main character in the book was called Sharrow.
I look forward to your observations...

Well the only thing I can think of.. he wrote the book at the time when Fife change from a County to being 'part' of a Region and he was a bit miffed... we were at one time referred to as the Kingdom of Fife, so how the mighty have fallen to be a bit part in Central Region or whatever its called... the name of the main character means nothing to me... afraid its not much and doesn't really explain anything but it's my worth...

Hmm, looks like Mr. Banks may have been winding us all up...it was in his latest book (Raw Spirit) that he made reference to it, but I can't seem to validate it anywhere...and I'm NOT about to re-read it tonight! (Although I will soon...and again...and again - did I mention I liked his writing(s)?)

Hi F... and there was me thinking you were ignoring me... no I wasn't really, only joking... I hope you will pop in to Artisan's Anagramitis, still in the early stages but I think he's done a grand job of setting everything 9,10,11 letters and 'anything goes' all under the one roof so to speak.. hope to see you there..
