"The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin" a TV series about an executive who opens a shop called Grot and claims the things there are completely useless, well they're not. People pay high prices for his stuff. So I declare your items are not useless, so there.
They may be disconnected with the proper time dimension and therefore appear useless. Nice try though.
