I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you'll have a computer soon. smiley - towel It will make communicating with you so much easier!

The ground here has been covered with thick frost for over a week now. Looks like we may have a white Christmas. My housemates are away but I've got Philosopher Friend (remember him?) coming to spend Christmas with me.

It's because these days I spend more time on other sites than h2g2: sites which you can't access with a digibox. You'll be able to read my journal and I'll be able to post you interesting links and stuff. smiley - thepost

My tarantula died yesterday. I'm very sad about this, because I've had her for about 14 years and she feels like part of my identity.

On the plus side, I've gone and got myself a date to see the new year in with. smiley - magic I'm quite nervous, but very excited. Woo-hoo!

smiley - laugh He's got two brothers, in fact!

How did the date go? I have no idea! I'm left wondering how he feels about me. I had a very emotional Christmas anyway, and was generally paranoid and trying to make everything perfect, and he was rather shy of me, which I kept interpreting as disinterest. It would have been better if I'd been able to chill out more about everything. I guess don't buy a new hat quite yet!

Happy 2008 to you too! smiley - bubbly

I'd have replied sooner, but my computer died and I had to buy a new one. It was a lot of money for me, but I consider it an 'essential' item, and it's not like I spend much on other stuff. I hope you can get yours up and running soon.

smiley - cheers

Things seem to be going better now, I think. smiley - smiley It's difficult to tell, because I am madly in love AND my self-esteem is at a low ebb, so my judgement has gone right out of the window. But I went up to Scotland to see him last week, and had a good time there.

Why is your 'puter still on hold?

My self esteem has improved... I worried that his interest in me might be short-lived, but this is not the case. MY M.E. has been playing up a lot, and I do get concerned that my lack of ability to do stuff will be off-putting--but again, he seems fine with it.

I probably won't see him for several weeks now, as we're both skint and he lives a long way away. But we are communicating a lot online. smiley - smiley

You need to pay to get Windows installed on your computer, I'm guessing.

I guess paranoia plays a big part on you,but like you said the jock seems fine with it,its such a shame you live so far apart, any chance one could move location?.What part of bonny land is he from?We need to talk email..the PC will cost £25 to upgrade, then £20 to get broadband per month,£30 to install it,at the moment i live on basic means, which basically means zilch smiley - sadface but ive applied for 3 jobs and i'm hopeful..everything comes in 3's smiley - goodluck

Hiya, Carino.

I've been very ill in bed since my last email. It's been pretty tough, particularly as I live on my own and haven't always been able to get to the kitchen and feed myself. My new man hasn't been able to visit me either, for financial reasons. And my friends haven't visited because I'm living in a somewhat remote place.

Last week I recovered enough to do some travelling, so I took a train to visit my mother. I was hoping that being looked after for a week would help my recovery and give me the boost I needed to care for myself properly. Unfortunately, she doesn't understand my M.E., thinks it's psychological, so the visit was exhausting instead and now here I am back in bed wondering how to cope. Apparently, the social services have schemes to help people in my position, but I'm not keen to have strangers coming in and examining me and going through my stuff.

I have to move out of my house by July. I'm contemplating moving to Scotland.

Did you manage to find a nice job? Is it going well? Are you happy and healthy?

Love,

SR. xxx

Hi smiley - elf
i am so sorry to hear about your ME getting the better of you once again and that you never found your mother understanding,i don't know what to say,on that score, the only possible and logical thing to say is,accept the help that social service offer, stop being so proud and stubborn and accept it,what other choices do you have? They see all walks of life and probably a lot worse,i know it's not about them, but for your own well being and possibly safety issues, you MUST re-consider it!..Failing that, consider moving to Jockland,i'm sure the guy knows what he is going to expect if and when you move there,it's far better than living helpless alone..yeah?

As for me and my NEW job,i'll tell you another time,i'm ok..get yourself sorted.
take care smiley - elf

Heya.

In the end I phoned my new boyfriend and asked him to come and get me, which he did, and I've been at his house in Jockland ever since. My health seems to be on the up. I'm on the lookout for a place of my own up here.
